Vz. 61 Skorpion: Should I?
I’ve loved the Czech Vz. 61 Skorpion ever since I first saw it as a kid. It looks like a baby AK. It is a select-fire machine pistol in 7,65mm (.32 ACP). There is a quality semi-automatic civilian legal version on the market made by Czech Small Arms and imported into the US and they go for around $695.00. Here is a picture of one in SBR format with the original military folding wire stock in place:
If I get one, I would SBR it. It takes 20 round magazines. A quirk of the design once SBR’d is it is VERY easy to bump fire off the shoulder, effectively simulating the full-auto fire of the original if desired. Looks super cool! I’m thinking once the coronavirus dies down I should get one. What do you guys think?

Yes. The cool factor alone justifies it.

I won’t be much help, as I have the same hankering. Cool little gun that everyone who owns seems to love. Fortunately Brownells has been sold out pretty much constantly.
They scream for a SBR or brace. Custom Smith has some cool 3D printed adapters and such - https://customsmithmfg.com/shop?olsPage=t%2Fcz
I grew up on the El Salvadoran Civil War and other stories of the Skorpion as the ultimate bad guy gun. Epitome of ‘Merica winning the Cold War to have these available here.

Yes yes yes.
I’ve been kinda looking for one of those, (not the new ones which are just too weird to me.) Remember the post by a member here from Europe some where that had a real one? Selective fire and all. Oh wow. I love the U.S. but why the restrictive firearms laws.
I’ve bid on a couple recently but the prices keep going up. Guess I should have got one years ago.
Of course SBR is needed, and course the “cool” factor is right up there with a stocked Mauser C96 and HK MP5. Excellent parts kits are still out there for them. For now.

Those were favorite assassination tools back during the bad old days of the soviet union. Little skill required. Just get close and empty a magazine into the target. Definite cool factor.

Care to expand on why you feel they are useless?

Care to expand on why you feel they are useless? Yes...Fire rate too fast, unless your 5'5 tall or less poor to shoulder ( length of pull) and fire, Small Cal, jams on everything but Ball ammo. Need I go On. The Red Brigade Used the Beretta 38 and UZI in addition to the cz ... both Outstanding sub guns...the Beretta they Mod the stock to fold ... the example I looked over in Germany at the time.
