I’ve posted these individually, but since the ranges are all closed and I’m self confining with the family, here goes another pictorial. Hope I’m not boring the audience too much.

I’ve had this Beretta 93 R for 21 years, it’s one of the jewel of my collection. I find it absolutely beautiful, the slide angles and polishing is stunning. I couldn’t date it though, and Beretta never responded to my requests.











I have the box too, well, not much of a box.





Glock 18. I used to see used Gen 2 for sale at abt $ 2000, and felt it was a bit expensive for a plastic gun. Then in mid 2018, some dealers advised that Glock would sell new gen 3 G18, but only on order and with the special license needed beforehand. Price was $ 1500, so I ordered one. It was delivered two months later. Not nearly as prestigious as the 93 R, but still a very fun toy. I don’t know if it was built in 2018 or if they had NOS. I should probably ask them.














And very recently I bought this rare CZ 75 automatic in a three full auto guns deal. I’m not even sure if was was shot, and it completes my desired trilogy, which only took two decades. It was built in 2003 and came with manual and a test target dated March 23, 2003. An interesting detail is that the barrel has rifling through the end despite the three holes porting.













Living in the French part of Switzerland and very close to France, I watched a lot of French movies, and the MAT 49 SMG was featured in many war movies and old thrillers, as it was also used by the gendarmerie. It’s a very familiar and distinctive gun here, and I’ve wanted one for a long time. I got this one in a trade in 2018. I couldn’t date it precisely, but it’s probably from early/mid fifties.











The HK MP5 A3 was part of the three guns deal mentioned. I mean who doesn’t want an MP5 ? I also couldn’t date this one as it does not have the usual code or proof markings

Edited to add - I picked up both a P7M8 and M13 while I was in Germany - but never had a chance to get the .380 version. Finances forced me to sell my 4-caliber HK4 (I think that was the model #) and both P7's years ago.

An MP5 with no normal proofs or marks? I wonder if that gun has tales to tell.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a CZ75 in full auto. The MAT 49 is perfect for steampunk movies. It's just so industrial looking. Love it.

Can you get the Grand Power K100 full auto variant in Switzerland? I saw a prototype being fired in a video but I'm unsure if production went ahead. For sure it had an insane rate of fire, probably due to the rotating barrel design.

How does the MAT49 shoot? I assume it is a classic blowback feel and rough compared to the MP5, but do you like it?

When I was with the SO, we bought a couple of Glock 18s. They weren't much more than G 19, really. Maybe $20-$30? Of course they can never be transferred. I carried one for a while just for the hell of it. Reliable and accurate on semi and a handful on shoot-fast when it's uncontrollable after the first couple of rounds I can't see a single practical advantage to a full-auto smallish handgun for LE purposes.

I'm not a fan of full auto fire, even when I was in the military. If you've shot enough full auto, you soon get over doing it for the experience and the sound, or I did. It can get expensive if you're buying your own ammo.

Nice toys, very nice! Also very costly to feed when fired in the auto mode. When I worked for Uncle Sugar it was fun to shoot autos. But now that it comes out of my pocket, not nearly as fun.

Like many gun enthusiasts, I’ve always wanted a Tommy gun. Al Capone, the untouchables, WWII, the Cuban revolution, this gun has been is so many movies and documentaries that it is a real piece of 20th century history.

This one is a 1941 Savage built Auto Ordnance Thompson 1928 A1, possibly supplied to Great Britain under the lend lease program. I was lucky to win it at an auction at a reasonable price, abt, $ 2200











I have also installed a wide hand guard on the MP5

The .380 was actually a multi caliber version called the P7 K3, as 3 Kalibers, .380, .32 and a .22lr conversion. It is quite rare

It fires from an open bolt, and since it’s quite heavy for 9mm and the rate of fire is a leisurely 600 rpm, it’s very comfortable to shoot and very controllable, even with super hot ammo (HP L7A1). I love it. Sadly I haven’t shot the MP5 yet, as it arrived as all the ranges closed due to Covid-19

Classic12 I worked for Beretta at the MD facility at the Metrology Lab for a short time, like 1986. We were the Importer for all of Beretta weapons, AR70, 93, and a few others. I shot the 93 at the 15 yd indoor range. I rather disliked it as the rate was too fast. The Secret Service bought a few for eval, they passed on the order. Your French 49 Is ...to me the PERFECT sub Machine Gun. Ive seen a few in Central America, Impressed with it. I think the French Police used them for awhile.

The 93r is a handful, but with the three rounds burst there’s some level of control.

The MAT 49 was used by the French police and military for a very long time. It can still be found in some African countries allied with France

That Beretta does not have a date code on it? There should be two or three letters inside a box, stamped on to it. My understanding is that happened when they were proofed.

Thanks but there is no date code on the 93r. I have 7 different Beretta and am familiar with the date codes.

I literally pulled it out of the safe to field strip it and check once again if I didn’t miss it






My 92 F serial C 84840 Z has a AP code - 1986
So maybe the 93r serial C 86647 Z is close

Some very desirable weapons you have there Classic12. I didn't even recall a full auto CZ75. The Beretta and CZ are really special in my view even if not as usable as an SMG. Nice!

A number of years ago during a visit to Israel I had the opportunity to try out a G18 that had a stock on it the security gent used when he carried it under his unbottoned shirt (over a t-shirt). It had a short sling that looped over the shoulder, he could get it in to action in very short order.

Just incredible!! I saw people with weapons when I was in your country many years ago, including an AMT. But nothing like those. I take it that there is very little "gun crime" there.

Gorgeous, and rarely seen here, all.
The few times I've got on the trigger of an MP5, it was that very same configuration, albeit with fixed stock. Very easy to get doubles or triples into the breadbox at typical handgun distances. The Tommygun was also a *****cat, thanks to all that weight!
