Randals are fun to show off to your friends on the internet, but for real world hard use everyday working blades, the Buck can’t be beat:

Wow! Thanks for sharing it with us. More importantly thank you for your service.
For those that don’t know. Yarborough knives are only available to those select few of our nations finest warriors who have graduated from the US special forces Q-Course.
When he says he earned the right to buy it, he means it.

I really enjoy these “Sway back jacks” With the large rope knife blades. Especially the two blade versions. Case called them “Loom fixers” Rough Rider calls them “Half Hawks”. I believe the universal name is a “New England Whaler”.

Here is my small EDC knife
Using it for game skinning, clear bushes at the backyard, sometimes it operates as a pry bar or lever. Quite versatile.

My favorite knife is the one that best fits my need for a particular task. Most of the time I use a knife that I have made or modified. My BubbaBlades are not works of art designed for viewing pleasure so this unusual Randall Made Knife is offered in the spirit of this thread.

More than I need but not as many as I want................
A Benchmade North Fork is my EDC in my Burb of the Burgh ...... with a Kershaw Blur as an EDC hard-use work knife.........
Lately my favorite in Penns' Woods is a simple Ka-Bar Mark I in a Savage Sheath. Like someone else here is always saying ..... "Everything you need and nothing you don't.
Another is the "Short Ka-bar"....... better suited to the Laurel Highlands of Pa than its big brother.....Ka-bar nylon or a Savage Sheath.
I find most factory leather sheaths more of an afterthought and less than worthy of a good knife.

You are correct, Buck is great for a mass produced knife, I have many and all are Made in The USA, stay away from the imports.
Lots of nice knives shown here. In addition to Buck I also have Case, Puma, Gerber, Knives of Alaska and a Hubertus.

Here are my most-carried Buck knives. The first is pretty special: a 501 stockman with the spey removed. The blades are CPM 154 steel, with a full flat grind. Stag scales finish it off. This was a small run from the custom shop for Bladeforum members.
The other is about as modest a Buck as you will find: 264 Bantam in its simplest configuration, black with no pocket clip. This unassuming $19 knife is very easy in the pocket and favored as an EDC by some pretty sophisticated collectors.

Very nice. I loves me some Anzas. I have one that looks a lot like those. I got it around the turn of the century. I don’t know if he makes anything quite like that these days. I like his laminated wood handles, but most of the ones I buy have Micarta, probably because I always look for bargains.
Mine lacks the file work on the spine. I like the self-referential visual pun there: file work on a file knife.
