Default George Hoenig's Rotary Round Action Rifle

Ever heard of this rifle? I came across it a few weeks ago and then looked online to learn more about it.

Ron Spomer did a nice video and article about it. Looks interesting, gives the rifle a clean look. Not sure how it would hold up regarding a speedy reload when dangerous game is charging at you, but it's still an interesting concept.

Btw, if you got $25k I know where's one for sale

It looks amazingly revolver-like.

Ingenious design, and beautifully executed.

Gorgeous, but my Coors budget means I stay away from Dom Perignon guns

I found a quote for $50k (for the base model) in 2015. I suspect they have not gone down in price over the past 5 years!

I have seen a couple of shotgun designs with round actions. All were out of Birmingham, England.

Looks like an elegant mechanism very well executed, but I do not see a whole lot of benefit over your more traditional large bore double rifles.

I think the benefit, for those well heeled shooters who want something a bit different, is its cool factor. The damned thing is just plain cool looking!!! Nice!

Interesting and attractive design. I like it!

I learned something new today. So it wasn't a total waste after all.

Several years ago (5-6?) I read about that rifle, I believe in a magazine named Double Gun Journal, something like that. Beautiful work but so far out of my price range and needs for a rifle, I didn't pay a lot of attention to it. I thought then and do now that it's an anomaly, a clever solution for a problem that doesn't exist.

I have actually handled one. They are a magnificent piece of workmanship. The example I handled belonged to a local gun shop owner who occasionally shares his personal treasure with me.
I cannot remember what he said the thing cost, but I know it was way beyond my pay scale.

Interesting design, but I see no practical advantage, and I can't imagine it loads any faster than a side by side. Maybe it's lighter because it only has one barrel?

Got two barrels. Beautiful. Even if I won the lottery and could afford it, I wouldn't buy it. To rich for my blood.
