Default 1923 Colt SAA arrives.

What a peach! All matching, tight, clean and shiny. I'm stoked to own a firearm of this quality. .32 WCF caliber.

A nice example. I used to own a 1900 .32-20 with a 4.75" barrel. It was a very mild shooter with all that extra steel around the chambers and bore. I'll bet the 7.5" gun will indeed be a peach.

Beautiful SA revolver in my favorite barrel length and caliber. Where did you find that one if I can ask?

Buick,
Very nice SAA! You seldom find 1st Generation guns in that condition.

Thanks for posting.

I was offered a USFA .32-20 in the box just like that at a gun show in Tulsa about 15 years ago, for $600. I wasn't interested in a puny .32 back then so I passed on it, and it has become one of those "What was I thinking?" moments we all have.

Since then I've acquired a nice Cimarron, but still....

Would anyone care to hazard a guess as to condition percentage? I had guessed 70% but after receiving it and wiping it down, it may push 80? At any rate, its in quite nice shape for 97 years young.

Finish percentage may be the most inexact and contentious subject in collecting. I would say 70%, and that only because of it's age. And, I haven't been wrong about anything for almost 5 minutes.

Very nice piece! Older high condition Colts are out of my reach or willingness. I recently bought and sold a new production Colt 1840 and bought this Standard Manufacturing 5.5" SAA. I'm happy with my choice. Would still love an early first Gen Colt.

That's one fine Colt!

I'm not well-versed on the Colt SAA, but I do know it is hard to find a First Model in that condition, and when you do, you pay.

Congratulations.

Curl

P.S. BTW, my daughter lives in Tarboro, NC. I'm a UNC grad and spent a lot of time in Eastern NC - Wilson area, during those years. Just got back last week from Nags Head.

Thats cool, Tarboro is right up the road from me here in the bustling metropolis of Elm City. I used to live and work on the OBX in my younger days. Would move back in a heartbeat. Although 'baca country really isnt a bad way to go.

Very nice looking Colt. Now you need a Winchester lever gun in 32-20 to partner with it.

The wife and i took the Colt out back of the farm yesterday evening for a test fire. Ammo was HSM cowboy fodder and the old Colt aquitted itself well given the fading light. Looking forward to the next outing. My wife is quite enamored with it.

70%, 80% who cares, but that is a nice 1st gen Colt.

I have a 1924 version, #349xxx and love it.

Its just for insurance valuation. As you know, the value between 70-80% can be up to 1k. 70-85% up to 2k.
