Default Another one I did not need

Not quite two weeks ago I reluctantly bought a S&W 33-1 and a SW357 from a neighbor. The next day I traded the 33-1 to a forum member for a Sig P250sc .357 Sig. I sold them to a friend for what I had in them, for his daughters. I don’t need more handguns, though there are a few I wouldn’t mind acquiring.

Today I stopped at a nearby gun shop to buy a box or two of sub-sonic .22 LR ammo. Lo and behold, a used Glock 36 .45 a.c.p. was sitting on a shelf for $299.95. The tag read “box, one mag”. This was a former rental gun that rarely got rented. I had to buy it. Then I had to buy a second mag, but I am still in it for under $350.00.

It does not show much wear at all.

I don't think I have bought a gun I actually NEEDED in close to 40 years. Yet they still keep showing up in my safe....

Some of the best acquisitions are “the ones we didn’t need.”

I don't think that you needed that one but there might very well be others that I think you need!

Fortunately, a few holsters for my other Glocks fit this model 36 just fine.

I bought one years ago when they first came out and I lived in PA. I will confess that it is the only composite gun that I own in my favorite caliber. For the limited rounds I have through it, using various loads, the one comment I will make is that it reliably feeds whatever I put in it.

I had custom holster maker C Rusty Sherrick make a carry holster for it, and for the spare mag. They were a bit more than 299.00 back then, but I regard mine as the first line of defense in a handgun along with my Browning Hi-Power

I have two gen. 2 Glock 19’s which are pretty similar.

I have +1 extensions on my Glock 43 magazines so a 48 isn’t different enough for me to try it.

What is this word "need" and how is it supposed to impact my gun collecting?

Speaking of which, I haven't added anything to the collection in almost 2 months now due to the virus, no gun shows and Massachusetts shutting down all the dealers.

Fortunately, that could start to change later today when a Federal judge decides if Massachusetts can legally void 2A because of the virus.

As soon as I get the good word, I'm going shopping!

Colby,
I hope I don't catch whatever you have, the checking account couldn't stand the strain. :-)

Have a blessed day,

Leon

That glop, in that caliber, at that price, might have tempted even me.

Naw, not really.

I would have sold you my 36 with 3 mags for more money in better condition in the box with papers even.

Get a G34. Better yet get a police trade in G35 then pick up a 40-9 conversion barrel for $100 +/- You can probably use the .40 mags with 9mm for range sessions. For the cost of the conversion barrel and a few mags you’ve got a great pistol in two popular calibers.

The 34 & 35 models never interested me but I do like the 17L.

I can’t turn down an inexpensive handgun. And certain rifles, such as CZ 527 and Savage 340 (or clones).

I've given that model a try TWICE in my past. Couldn't ever achieve typical Glock reliability. But for the price you got it at, I mighta tried for a 3rd-strike, TOO !
