I know there is another thread on the Remington Model 11 but I didn’t want to muddle the thread with all my photos so Im starting a new thread. My gun is a Remington Grade 6 Automatic Shotgun which later became the Model 11 F grade. It was manufactured in 1911 with a 28”full choke solid rib barrel and a hard rubber buttplate. Enjoy the photos. Bill

About thirty years ago, the older Remington rifles and shotguns in the high grades, but long discontinued models were available very reasonably. Not any more! They are now recognized for the works of art that they are.
So glad to see this one. Thank you for the detailed photographs.
The Model 11 lends itself well to engraving with its broad expanse of receiver surfaces.
I love Remington Model 11s which hark back to a different time in America. They're good sturdy and reliable shotguns too.
Here's a very soggy 1931 vintage Model 11 12 gauge modified choke on a cold wet duck hunting day in our cove. Not a scratch of ingraiving on it though but only the wear of a couple generations of hunting use. Son's 16 gauge Winchester Model 12 from 1917 leans beside it.
Do these guns ever go hunting? In the mid 90's I bought a Browning Super Light 28 gauge in grade VI. One fall afternoon I went to the back of my farm and was looking for rabbits. I noticed as the brush got thicker, I slowed down, I also noticed I avoided Blackberry Brambles completely! I walked back to the house, grabbed the Mossberg 500, got back in the thicket and shot my limit!
I wouldn't do it to this gun, but with the more pedestrian Model 11's, installing the parts for the two piece lifter gives you the Browning A-5 quick load feature. The parts are available from several of the parts stores. It makes loading on the clock much faster when engaged in 3gun stuff.
