Question for you folks that use the Lansky sharpeners. I bought one and tried to sharpen a Case pocket knife that had a "California" clip point. They're called a California clip point because the blade is long, narrow, and shaped like the state of California. The blade has a very hollow grind on it; barely a flat surface on either side.
Without flat sides on the blade, I couldn't get the blade clamp on the Lansky to hold the blade tight. It kept rolling away from the stones (?), essentially changing the sharpening angle down the edge of the blade. I never sharpened a knife with it because it wouldn't stay still in the clamp, so I returned it.
How do you hold a blade like that?
