Default CZ Shadow 2 SA blemish on frame would you send it back to CZ USA?

You can forget about pictures because the ones I sent CZ USA they told me they cannot see what I am talking about.

The new CZ Shadow 2, if you remove the slide and run your finger on top of the frame but the inner part of it, you will feel on the take down pin side(left side) the inner edge on top of the slide rail has some rough spots. Does it effect the functionality? No but for the $1200 I paid for it, I am not happy about getting a blemish on it.

Would you send it back to CZ and complain and demand you want a new gun?

Always tough when you’ve invested money into something and it’s not perfect. That said, if it were mine, no I wouldn’t return it or worry about it if the gun runs well.

Heck, if you have to remove the slide, run your finger to find it, and it’s on the inside of the frame rail, that’s not a big deal in my book. Is it the sprayed on coating, or the metal itself? Does it cycle well? If it was a high dollar custom fitted/finished piece it would bug me, but that’s a shooting gun with a minor, hard to find blemish, I’d just move on. But, it’s your gun...

The good news is that they are great shooters/super accurate for the money... I’ve got several CZs and they’re nice guns. Enjoy!

I agree with dmar . I also have several CZ's and took delivery of my blue Shadow 2 last week and intend to shoot the heck out of it .

do you have a Shadow 2? Maybe you can remove your slide and check to see if there are any rough edges above the edge of the frame rails.

I am most likely leaning toward not sending it in as I do not have the energy but then again if I make a huge fuss I am sure CZ will replace the pistol so maybe it is worth the hassle after all

Buy cheaper guns and then you won't have such unrealistic expectations.

Hey we've all got different "standards" and expectations.

Is it really a blemish if you can't see it, only feel it, you have to disassemble the gun to find it, and it still functions properly?

You're the only one with those answers.

Personally I would have never even found it unless some malfunction brought me to be running my finger inside the frame.

If we are talking about something that can not be seen and is not visible in photographs, I do not think I would call that a blemish and no, I would not send it in.

It's your gun, if you are that OCD, then send it in or it will always bother you.

Based on your description, I would be surprised if they gave you a NEW gun.

BTW, I think a NEW gun would be the very Last thing you would want. What happens when you find sometime on the NEW gun as you redo the total inspection of the firearm?

I would think that you would want the issue on yours attended to since you have already checked every other inch of it and found no problems

Perfection is really expensive. Manufactured per print specification is affordable.

Unrealistic consumers, PRICELESS !

EDIT: If this lack of empathy continues, marathonrunner may not post another "crisis" thread. Then what will we do for reading intrigue?

A "new gun" for an invisible blemish that is under the rail.

Yep sure you betcha!

Was at the range today, another guy had a CZ 75 not quite the same gun as it has an aluminum frame but his rails also had burrs and felt really rough. I am just not used to seeing blems because my Sig P226 SAO Legion was perfect out of the box no blems

If you found another CZ with the same lack of attention to detail, then that's probably how they all are.

So based on this invisible "blemish"
CZ has a lack of attention to details? It is not visable to a camera lens yet it is a lack of detail??

I dare not go and open my safe and field strip my several CZs. I might be heartbroken and crushed,!!They are some of the best guns out there,

Yep my Sig P226 SAO Legion fit and finish is perfect and no blems anywhere. My CZ P10C had a hairline crack on the polymere frame but CZ told me it wouldn't get worse but since I only paid $500 I wasn't bothered by it. But after paying $1200 for my Shadow 2 and not knowing CZ focuses on functionality rather than appearance I was pissed off.

But after seeing another Shadow at the range, albeit not same model it also had a rough texture along the inner slide rails on frame just above the guide rails

if this was a $500 pistol I would agree with you but for a pistol over $1000 it's a bit irksome regardless. I called CZ tech support and they had no idea what I was talking about, hard to believe I am the only one who notices the inner rail very abrasive to the touch, again if you ran a piece of steel wool over it, the rough texture with sharp burrs would snag and rip the steel wool apart. but even if I took pictures it would not show up very easily

Shoot it a bit and see if it clears up or you could just polish that area a little. I love CZ's and own three but not a Shadow 2.

I have a CZ-SP01. I paid about $650 for it new. The finish is not as pretty as a $1,000 Sig, but boy does it shoot great. CZ's are meant for shooting, not for staring at.

I agree but when you spend $1135 for a CZ shadow my expectations are higher. Had I paid $600 I wouldn't be so fussy. My CZ P10C has issues with striker rotating and there is a crack in the lower frame, CZ said it will never get worse but I didn't gripe or complain because it wasn't expensive

You should sell this abomination of a handgun immediately. The sheer agony of owning such must be devastating.

No matter how well it shoots you will always be consumed with the miniscule flaw.

Sell it!!! And set your mind free..........

I had a friend who just bought the same CZ as mine. His was absolutely pristine so the later productions maybe CZ got enough gripes and cleaned up the insides.

Anyway the CZ is just one of my pistols and I honestly shoot better with my Sig P226 SAO Legion and my Sig P320 X5 with grayguns trigger at distance. The CZ is a bit too nose heavy for going from one target to the other.

anyway it certainly is not the end of the world as the CZ is not even my favorite pistol I own but if every CZ had blems I would be OK with it but some are perfect others are not.
