Default So now I gotta ask

I personally own all S&W revolvers along with one (1) Colt 1911.

So how many different fire arm brands do you own and what % are S&W's?

Default Well, I own...

...besides several S&W revolvers and semis:

A Kel Tec

A Sig

I inherited a Colt Detective Special.

Rifles/carbines:

Henry
Mosin Nagant
SKS
Savage
Kel Tec

Shotguns:

Inherited a Browning A5
Akkar 12 ga.
Inherited a double barrel 12 ga. of unknown origin. I haven't worked hard to identify it. From the finish it looks like it was dug up from WWI.

Between the two of us here, she came with her own collection of firearms.

Pistols.

Beretta.
Browning.
Colt.
Charter Arms.
FNH.
Glock.
H&K.
Ruger.
S&W.
Springfield Armory.
Steyr.
Taurus, I know the reaction from some but the revolver does work. LOL
Uberti
Walther

36 Pistols with 13 being S&W.

Rifles.

Colt.
Henry.
M-1, uncertain of manufacture.
Maadi.
Marlin.
Moisin-Nagant.
Norinco.
Lee-Enfield.
Ruger.
Springfield, old 1903.

15 rifles, 0 are S&W.

Shotgun, only the Mossberg 590.

13 out of 52, but roughly 1/3 of all handguns.

- Sigs
- Browing/FN
- Glocks

- Beretta
- Ruger

I own many brands of firearms but primarily my handguns are S&W by a long shot and mostly revolvers and .22 autoloaders. (I own no S&W centerfire autoloaders)

I have Colt's Gold Cup National Match, a little Charter Undercover,
and a few Colt replicas, but all the rest of my guns are S&W revolvers.

The bulk of my handguns are S&W

There are representative examples of these in my collection:

ArmiGalesi
Colt
HK
Glock
Sig

I don't have a collection of rifles, they are all users, or family guns. I probably have more Marlin rifles than anything else, and almost all of the shotguns are Remington.

All my revolvers are Smiths, except for one Charter Arms Bulldog; so maybe 99% S&W. Autos: maybe 33% S&W (3rd Gens) as nd the rest are other brands.

(If S&W currently produced 356TSW or 357Sig, the percentage would be noticeably better.)

Had to do a count, as I have been selling some off. Presently there are 20 different brands, and S&W represent 66.3% of the total firearms.
Brands are:
Anschutz
Baikal
Bersa
Browning
Colt
DPMS
Ithaca
Mauser
Norinco
Remington
Rock Island Armory
Ruger
RWS
SAko
Sig Sauer
S&W
Springfield Armory
Thompson Center
Ugartechea
Winchester

I just noticed as I posted this, this is my 20,000th post. Just hope I haven't made a nuisance of myself over the years.

All my S&W are revolves except my two M&P .45s.

These are the only two that are not S&W, Ruger 10/22 and my DSArms SA58 FAL

About 50% of all my guns are S&Ws at the moment, looks like.

I have 4x more S&Ws then Rugers, which is the runner up, and then Colt has an honorable mention, followed by Remington (I can't not buy cheap 870s wingmasters, it's just not in me).

At that point listing the rest of the guns gets kind of silly, but you may be amused:

Hand Guns:
Colt
Remington
Dreyse
Glock
High Standard
HK
Mauser
Miroku
Ruger
Smith & Wesson
Springfield
Walther
Webley

Long Guns:
Browning
BSA
BSW
Cooey

I don't know if there's an "official" way to count caliber conversions, so I'll count them as 1/2.

Thus, I have:
3.5 S&Ws, including one .40 S&W/.357 SIG conversion.
4 SIG Sauers, including one 9mm/.357 SIG conversion, and one .40 S&W/.357 SIG conversion.
1 each: FN, Ruger, Harrington & Richardson.

So, exactly 1/3 of my firearms are S&Ws.

I have 23 different brands of hand and long guns. S&W makes up about 20.5% of them.

I have 3 Colts, 6 Rugers, 3 CZs, 2 Walthers, 5 Stars, 7 Sigs & some misc .25s.

Only God knows how many S&W revolvers and semis I have, cause I don't.

Let’s see. My menagerie of handguns consists of S&W, Colt, Ruger, Erfurt (P08), Walter, Ithaca (1911A-1), Star, GSG, Taurus, Webley, KelTec, Glock, RIA, H&R and a Soviet Nagant. S&W makes up 60% of the total, with Colt and Ruger each accounting for 10% each. Over 75% of the revolvers are S&W. 1911 type pistols account for almost 60% of the pistols.

The long guns are made up of Inland, Postal Meter, Saginaw SG, Eddystone, Enfield, ROF Fazerkerly, Smith Corona, Springfield Armory (the original one), Ruger, Windom, Remington, Winchester, Marlin and Henry.

At various times I’ve also had Auto Ord, Llama, Rossi, Cimarron, Sig, ROF Lithgow, Mossberg, Bushmaster, Springfield Armory (the current one), Iver Johnson, and probably a few more I’m unable to recall at the moment.

My guess would be 75% of my handgun's would be S&W hand ejectors......the balance are Sig, Freedom Arms, Colt, Glock, etc.

The long gun list is extensive.....

Mossberg, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Taurus, Walther.

As for what percentage is S&W, well... That's where things get screwy... See, technically I own two Smith & Wesson brand firearms, but neither is strictly a S&W product. Allow me to explain, the first one is a Smith & Wesson manufactured PPK/S, made under license during a period in which S&W was partnered with Walther, and was producing the PPK and PPK/S domestically. But wait, there's more... Smith & Wesson then outsourced the production of the Slide and Frame to Ruger who performed the casting for S&W in their Pine Tree Investment Casting facility, then shipped them back to S&W for machining, finishing, and assembly. So what percentage of the gun is actually considered Smith & Wesson, 33.3% at best?
My second Smith & Wesson brand firearm is a Sigma SW40VE, which as most folks know, is a very close copy of the Glock 23, so close in fact that the previous generation Sigma SW40F and SW40C had actually infringed on one of Glock's patents, thus leading to a lawsuit which was settled out of court with S&W paying Glock royalties for all models sold then redesigned the Sigma so that it no longer infringed on Glock's patents. So that begs the question, what percentage of the SW40VE is Smith & Wesson? Granted that the SW40VE is a 3rd Gen Sigma which was manufactured post redesign, but it's still largely based on the Glock 23.

See what I mean? Some would argue that I don't even own one Smith & Wesson firearm considering that neither was really designed by S&W, merely produced by them.

I have been adding firearms to the stable for over 40 years. I doubt I will recall all of the brands. I am only going to do handguns.

There are 43 different handgun brands in my collection.

Of all of those handguns, 60% are Smith & Wessons

I did a quick records check and it seems I have firearms from 31 different companies. In many cases only one or two of a given brand.
Didn't do the math, bit I'd say about 33% are S&Ws.
