Default Better than buying a gun yourself

After a lifetime of watching her baby brother hunt, shoot, etc. my 64 year old, retired lawyer sister decided she would like to get a pistol permit. She went through all of the courses, paperwork, the entire process and was granted her permit. So........

The other day in the LGS I spied two used Ruger Mk II .22s in very good shape and for very good prices. We went there today, and she ended up buying one. We ended up with the old tapered barrel model. She felt the bull barrel one was just a bit heavy for her taste. I don't think she could have gone wrong with either one though. Now she just needs to wait for the amendment to go through.

I'm looking forward to taking her out to the range.

That's great - more people shooting is better.
You should have bought the other MKII if the price was very good.

Great! I’m sorry NY makes you jump through those hoops to shoot a .22 though.
