I thought I'd try 'ivory' grips on a stainless 1911..... I liked the way the looked so I offer them for your consideration vs. black. Got the blanks from guitarpartsandmore.com, and made them myself. This gun happens to be a 9mm; I also fitted it up with a .38 Super barrel as well. It shoots them both very well.

OEM grips were a bit thin so I found some wood, laid up decades ago, and made these... .270" thick. Not full width but useable for now.
Will final sand and oil asap.
Saving the remaining layup for my old K22 stocks and a wooden can cover for the MKIV Target.

Maybe "Blue in Green" as well on 1911s.

Some 3/4" thick Gaboon Ebony that will wind up on the Officer.
Some more thick ebony, purpleheart and maple for matching GM/GC and Officer sets.
Woods been laying around for decades... shorts from guitar/bass work.
