this can't be Chief Special because there is only one screw as you can see in the picture. and the handle grip below is curved.

Sorry it took so long for a response, but your post was buried in another thread in the New Members Introduction area.

You’re correct, it’s not a S&W. It’s a spuriously marked, crudely made revolver that obviously infringes on S&W’s trademark and is intended to deceive unknowing buyers.

They’re often referred to as a Khyber Pass gun. I’ve read that there’s also a number of black market makers in the Philippines.

No idea what its original source was, but definitely not S&W.

i think i saw those being made in a tent in NW Pakistan in the mid 80s. lee
