Default Case Bowie Not The Thing I Normally Buy

As the title said not something I would normally buy but when offered to me at $40 at a local flea market today hard to pass up. I think it is made in 1982 based on the tang markings and style box is a little tattered but knife is perfect.

Excellent find! Those typically sell for around $200!

That was an excellent score!

I have just one Bowie knife... a common Western on a plaque, engraved & presented to me when I finished my hitch in the 82nd Abn. Div.

Not nearly as nice as the Case, I suspect. But valuable to me for sentimental reasons, of course.

That is nice. I don't need one. But $40 made in USA? That is a must buy.

My folks bought me one for Christmas one year. Mine is a little older, as the sheath has brass plated trim.

I think we have a consensus. I have no particular desire to have a Bowie knife, but I would be in a hurry to give $40 for that one, and probably keep it, although the OP probably saved it from a flipper, unless he plans to flip it himself.

Meanwhile, my search for the rare and elusive David Bowie knife continues.

I had one almost identical to that one that was made by Collins and Company. It was a WWII vintage item. I carried mine in Viet Nam and it disappeared from my parents home when I got back. It was handy and served well while over there.
