Default Boito & Norinco ATD

OK these both look like new with no dent/nicks or scratches anywhere.

Picked these up at the same place earlier in the week.

The Boito is a 12ga and apparently was made by E.R. Amantino in Brazil for K Mart back in the day.

Not sure what this thing weighs but I'd hate to carry it in the field all day.

The Norinco ATD 22 is Chinese made and is a copy of the Browning.

So who out there has had a "Good" or "Bad" experience with either of these?

Had one of the Browning .22 copies when they first became available. Paid less than $100 if I remember right. Not nearly as well finished and fit as a Browning, but OK. Problem was the barrel would not stay tight, and no real accuracy. Sold it. Not to say some of the NORINCO imports were not good guns. My SKS is outstanding, and my NORINCO copy of the BRNO .22 bolt action rifle was well made and very accurate. I have read their 1911 copies are very nice guns. Attached an old pic of my BRNO copy.

We have the exact same model here, it works, nothing special but good for squirrel and rabbit.

I had an Norinco ATD that a friend gave me, it wouldn't run reliably so he gave it to me. Found it had a kinked recoil spring, replaced it with a used one from a real deal Browning ATD (got it from Numrich) and that fixed it. Carried it in my canoe as a utility rifle for a number of years, figured if I lost it in a canoeing mishap it wouldn't be the end of the world...

I've had a few of the various Boito shotguns come through my hands over the years. The quality isn't the best.

The Norinco ATD has some rough machining and soft wood for stocks, but they're noted for being accurate. I've owned a number of them over the years. The soft wood stocks were subject to cracking if you tried to over tighten the gun during assembly. I saw a friend bust his stock while trying to drift the sight with a punch. I don't currently own one, but wouldn't hesitate to pick up another if the price was right.

My son purchased one of the Norinco ATDs several years ago. We went to some local steel 22 matches a few times and the first time there, he placed first place in about 30 shooters using his Norinco. It has never had any problems with function. No they are not well finished but they are 400-500 dollars less that the real Browning. We have both had the Bruno copies of the Bolt guns in 22 LR for years and they are amazing on the accuracy. He has not put a scope on the Norinco so I will not state anything on accuracy as I do not like open sights. Everything I own expect my dads hand me down Model 90 has a scope on top. The Norinco should be a lot of fun, we shoot a lot of steel, both 22 and high power. Fun hearing the "ping".
