My RIA 9mm 1911 came with a Mec-Gar 10 rd mag. I bought another identical one as a spare, but the new one would not allow more than three rounds in the mag. Different ammo didn't make any difference. I contacted their "customer service" and got verbal sympathy, but nothing else, except the implication that I didn't know what I was talking about. I tried everything I could think of and nothing would allow more than three rounds. I eventually remover the follower and ground off a little from the perimeter, reassembled, and it now accepts a full house, but still tight. Their mags are otherwise dependable, but their CS sucks.

They're good mags. They manufacture the OEM mags for many gunmakers.
I've got six 18-round mags for my Beretta 92FS and they've functioned well without any issues.

They're excellent. So much so that certain firearms manufacturers have Mec-Gar make the magazines for their firearms.

I have some for my 9mm 1911 that function perfectly. But I purchased 3 more that wouldn’t drop out when the mag release was depressed. The mags were bulged in several places. I polished them but still couldn’t get them to drop free.
I contacted CS and the person I spoke to said sometimes the metal won’t hold its shape when formed. He said to send them in and they’d re form them and return those plus three new ones. Cool I thought.
I sent the mags to them and several weeks passed and I called them to see what was going on. It was like they never heard of my problem. Finally I got through to the CS person what had happened and he said he’d take care of it this time. This time? Warranty? They did ship three new ones but didn’t return the original three. I contacted CS about the other three and was insulted by CS.
I’ll buy their mags but if I have a problem I’ll send them to the company I buy them from but if I can do g Metalform I’ll buy them first or CMC.

My EAA Witness came with Mec-Gar magazines (3 calibers - .45 ACP, .38 Super, 9mm), no problems with any of them. Also bought spares in each caliber. Bought a pair of Mec-Gar .22 mags for my Ruger Standard Model, no problems there either.

Mec gar are wonderful magazines and most EOM are really made by them. I don’t care for their 1911 magazines but some think they are ok.

OEM in the Browning High Power and a number of other pistols.
I've used them in High Powers, CZs, S&W 6906s, and PPK/S pistols. They all work great.

Not sure I see your problem here. They replaced faulty magazines and why would they be obligated to send them back?
I have Mec Gar mags for my PPKs in .32 and .380 and they work great. Very smooth loading.

CZ 75, CZ83, and Beretta 81. No problems with any of them, just some of the cheap ammo I have purchased.

All of them I ever used were excellent. Not sure but think they may have been the maker of the Ruger branded mags for their P-series semi-auto's back in the day.
I have a couple of them for my Commander size 9mm 1911 too that work perfectly.

I believe Mec-Gar is actually owned by Beretta and as stated by others they are the OEM maker for numerous brands. I’ve never had a problem with any of their mags.

For double stack magazines, Mec-Gar are the only aftermarket ones I'll buy.
I'm currently using them in my CZ 75's and S&W 2nd Gen 459/559 pistols.

Because they said they would. I didn’t ask for them, they offered to and didn’t do it.

Mec Gar is OEM for Walther. All 3 of my P99's magazines were made by them and have been running flawlessly.

A couple months ago I bought a used Ruger P93 that didn't come with any stock mags, but rather two 17 round Mec-Gars. Both work perfectly.

Mec-Gar is the OEM magazine manufacturer for a whole bunch of firearms. I have never had a problem with Mec-Gar magazines.

Bought several for a Para Ordinance P14. Work like a charm, and would not hesitate to buy from them again.

I've bought several of their Luger magazines and use them as substitutes for the real ones when at the range.
They've always worked well. The mag spring seems to be a little stiffer than the originals,,maybe the old originals are just weak (maybe I am!).
But they function well,,, and that's something in a Luger.
Never tried any other other of their offerings.
