Father forgive me...
Went off the ranch again today...Mrs Raljr1 spent the middle of the day with a friend at the park, so I decided to circumnavigate the Burgh to see what I might find. Hit 6 shops, pickins were slim A couple of K frame 22s at one place and nothing worth taking out of the case at the others...headed home, and decided to stop at JMC Defense, a little place nearby....not much inventory, a very nice K22 with box, tools and papers for $1200, an 8-3/8 barreled model 14 and s model 48, 8-3/8, on consignment...and in the case out front was a shiney Colt Detective Special...now I needed that like a hole in the head, but it was nickel....and I asked if the guy who owned it wanted to sell it or leave it in the case...owner said it wasn't a consignment piece. I offered a $100 off the price and he said okay...$600 for a nice nickel colt, not a screaming deal, but not bad either.. then again, I just checked GB and maybe it is a pretty decent deal... showed it to Mrs, she said what she always says...."Looks the same as all the others."

Tess True Heart would notice the shinny nickle and the extractor rod shroud.
Nice Colt. I like the final version. They look more like Smiths.
