The closest thing I have to that is my little 1894P, but you know about that already.

This has been my deer (and one black bear) rifle for just shy of 40 years. It was made in 1901 and I got it from the son of the original owner. During the war (the second one) it needed to be re-barreled for some reason but no replacement barrels were available. However a local store had a used model 64 rifle barrel and forearm so that was installed. Since new it has probably killed more deer than General Motors. To be fair of course it is also older than General Motors. The son told me that as a kid he remembers it keeping meat on the table all through the depression. Not worth anything to a collector but it's got countless small scratches and nicks that I'm sure all have a story. I suppose I should add that it's a 30-30 (30WCF).

I've always really enjoyed them, mostly Winchester's and Savage. It's been fun taking deer with them...in some cases, 100 year old rifles still being used. I enjoy it.

Default American made with Pride

Beautiful collections posted, just something about American classic lever guns, some over (some well over) 100 yrs. young that just keep on hitting the mark, bringing home game for the table, enjoyed by young and old, shooters and collectors alike.

I've only got the one...Winchester 94 in 30-30, but funny thing..whenever it goes to the friendly farmer's woodlot for some exercise, whether it's just me, son's or daughters, grandkids along, it gets shot (ALL have to shoot it) and gets expensive using factory ammo, so the 94 is usually accompanied by the Seneca Green Nylon 66, which can turn a brick of 22LR into a fun and entertaining afternoon for all.

Got say though.......that 30-30 makes a real nice set of holes in paper!

Love those lever guns.....keep em coming!

The best .22 lever actions ever made. Win 9422/Marlin 1897T(39) and Browning BL-22 Grade II octagon.

The Win and Brn are fine 22 rifles but not really a classic. The Marlin 39 comes from a line extending back over 125 yrs. I would say the only 22 of traditional design. Win & Brn we’re short lived and of modern design with quasi traditional looks.

The 9422 was made in the image of the 94(30-30). It had about a 20 year run until Win. fell on hard times. The BL22 has had a long run and is still being made in about 4-6 configurations. The 39 is now only a $3500 custom shop from Remlin.......So none were short lived.

Never been a big lever owner but always a fan. Since liquidating a Browning BL .22 and B92 (.44 mag), I’m down to only 2 so this won’t take long.
Win. 94

Cimarron ‘73 (.357 mag with short stroke kit) that my oldest gdaughter used for CAS.

Same ol' lever-action tribe, mostly acquired years ago.

Top to bottom:

Winchester Model 1873 .38-40 from 1900
Winchester Model 1886 .45-90 from 1887
Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine .32-20 from 1896
Winchester Model 94 .32 Winchester Special from 1941
Winchester Model 1895 .405 WCF from 1904
A Savage 99 in .300 Savage from 1955 crept in there.

A more recent gun show acquisition from a year ago, a 1953 Marlin Model 39A 22 Long Rifle.

Added a Williams Fool Proof to my 1894C.

Had to do some fitting to get the sight as low as possible to the receiver, and it's still shooting too high. I have a taller front sight on the way that should fix the issue.

Here’s my little Miroku Winchester 2010 take down trapper in .44 Magnum. Very nicely made, and handy little rifle.

Browning 1886 from 1986 - .45-70

Miroku does make very nice guns. I had a Winchester 92 by Miroku in .44 Magnum. It had a steel crescent buttplate and beat me like no other gun ever has. The Marlin 1894 is easier on my shoulder.

Was in gun business to 1991-92. At this time post war Marlin, post 64 Wins and most Savage 99s were dogs. I’m talking lever guns. Average price for a good used specimens was $100. The guys that bought lever guns to hunt with tended to buy Marlin, used or new over the Winchester’s made after 1963. The Savage 99 series were a good gun but not popular in our area. Today we have rifle season in Ohio. In the legal cartridges the lever actions have the market. Companies are coming up with Bolt Actions and AR type rifles for the trade.
Ohio back then was slug only and lever action market was limited. Living in eastern Ohio we had a trade in deer rifles because of Penn and WVa.

Redone Win 1894 takedown. CCH and fire-blued screws by Justin McMillan. Look closely at the Redfield sight and you'll see it was case colored to match. Nice work.

I have a couple lever guns. A 1994 Winchester Trapper in 44 Magnum. A 1956 M94 30-30. An early Savage 99. A Rossi M92 clone in 45 Colt. A basic Henry 22 rifle. Here's the Savage...

The Savage 99 is just a graceful looking lever action. We have one here shared between The Better Half and her brother since it passed down from their dad. M99 in .250-3000 and I admit that Wendy is the better at bagging whitetails than I am.

Finally got the taller front sight on my 1984C and made it out to the range to zero it this morning.

Not bad for factory ammo (PMC 158gr JSP), and considering the front sight bead covered the entire bull at 50yds. I'm wondering if I should have gone with the smaller bead...

Anyway, it was no problem ringing a 12" steel at 100yds, so it'll be a nice little carbine for the boonies.
