New to me Dan Wesson Valor Commander 9mm bull barrel limited edition...
Happy 4th of July to everyone.
I love Dan Wesson 1911s as well as 9mm 1911s. I was looking forward to trying a commander size as I think this will be perfect for quicker cycling and quicker follow ups/double taps. Found a nice new old stock Valor bushing less with a bull barrel, limited edition with cocobolo heartwood stocks. This is a stunning looking piece for my taste. Nice balance, feels perfect in my hand, Too bad, 10 more days in our NJ OGAM jail (one gun a month). Pictures from my conjugal visit counting days until we are united....

Beautiful Commander sized 1911. You did good! All my 1911's are .45 Cal. I've never even shot a 9mm 1911. Must be pretty mild recoil I bet.

I have a Dan Wesson Vigil 9mm Commander 1911 and a stainless Pointman9. For those that aren’t familiar, the Vigil is an aluminum frame gun that is lower priced. I have had numerous 1911’s over the years and have 5-6 today. What I’m finding is that if I go to the 1911 area of my safe, I pick one of the two 9mm guns to go shooting, and the .45acp versions are gathering dust. Lighter recoil and a couple more rounds in the magazine makes for a better experience for me. Some noted others like Bill Wilson at Wilson Combat are doing the same. Still love the .45’s, but I just don’t enjoy shooting them as much with my old hands.

Other than the grips it's kind of plain looking - just the way I like a 1911.
