Red Dot or Holographic Sight
I've been going nuts trying to figure out what optic I wanna put on my CZ Scorpion.
I have a Aimpoint PRO that I really like on an AR, but it's kinda big for the little CZ.
Found a CZ forum, and a lot of people went with a Holosun or the Sig Romeo sight. I'd never heard of Holosun, but they seem to have a good following. I just can't see having something with Romeo wrote on it on a gun, so the Sig's out.
Never owned a holographic sight, but there is a lot of them out there.
Any suggestions for a smallish optic for a CZ? This is without a doubt the ugliest gun I've ever owned. It will look a tiny bit cooler when I get my stamp back and can put a retractable stock on it.
Really don't want to spend over $500 on one.
This is the CZ , to give a reference to the size.

I have a Vortex Venom 3 m.o.a. red dot on my FNX 45 Tactical (a large .45 acp pistol), and it works very well. The Venom is small and reasonably priced (around $200 on sale). I recommend it.

I have a Vortex Venom 3 MOA on my turkey gun and like it. The only issue I've found it that I find I have to wipe moisture off the lens if there's any sort of rain or mist in the air.

Vortex Venom will be added to my list. Thanks y'all.
Kinda like this if I could find one in stock. Never owned an Eoetech.

I have several of the top familiar name brand optics. The technology seems to be changing about a fast as I can get used to them.
I have a couple of Venom Vortex (pistols) and Strike fire II's (AR's) and they're just fine. I recently put a Romeo -5 on a 9mm, PCC for home protection. Grandma likes the "KISS: shake-awake" feature! Zeroed at 25 yards and hits within vertical five inches out to 100 yards! 's

Are the Vortex Venom pretty well made. Looks kinda fragile.
Think it would be too small for the CZ I posted?
Read up on them a lot and they get solid reviews.

I have a Vortex Sparc AR on an AR9 pistol build. I tried an Aimpoint Pro first, but it was a little bulky. The Sparc is about right for subgun sized 'pistols'.

When checking out the Sparc AR, I saw the Sparc II. I really like the size and looks of it.
I have a Vortex Strikefire II on an AR that's served me most well.
The Sparc II at 3" long and including 3 different height options moved to the top of my list. The Vortex Venom still seems better. Never held a holographic sight, but from the looks...they don't look like they'd do well if beat up a little.

Eotech is way too big for my needs.

I don't particularly care for the pistol style optics on an AR ('pistol' or otherwise), so I wouldn't choose the Venom.
Here's a pic of the Sparc for size reference:

Sig Romeo 3 on my 9x19mm pistol. The most strenuous thing this is likely to be used for would be home defense. Small, light and good visibility with the "shake awake" feature. I like it.
Your Skorpion looks cool.

That looks a 1000% better than the Romeo 5.

EOTechs are well known and popular. I am putting a Mepro M21 on my AR pistol. I don't put lasers or red dots on normal handguns but an AR pistol is abnormal. They're expensive but I already have one for another AR that I sold so I am saving it for the AR pistol. I think it would work well on your CZ.

I bought this stock to put on it as soon as I get my ATF tax stamp back. Sent 2 off last Friday. One to make the CZ a SBR, and the other for a 9mm silencer kit.
Manticore Arms - Scorpion EVO Slider Stock - Scorpion EVO products - Shop By Rifle
There's a EOTech XPS2-0 for sale on a local site used for $380.
Thought about it, but it would probably look funky on such a small gun.

I have a couple/few Aimpoint Micros in Larue mounts. Top of the pile, for my money, but Aimpoint messed up and now only makes those with a 2 MOA dot. That's wonderful for 25 YO SOCOM studs, but my 60 YO eyes would prefer a 6 MOA dot. The Aimpoint Acro is smaller and has a 3.5 MOA dot, which is better. I just put on on one of my Glocks.
I'm surprised EoTech is still in business after they had to settle their fraud case. They have too many well known flaws in the hard use community for me to even consider one. I know of some folks who really like the Holosun models and have been very happy with them. The supposedly have models coming that will not require removal to change the battery, which I consider a significant disqualifier.

Nice Scorpion. That micro size looks awesome.
I have shot or owned most of sight referenced. I have had an astigmatism develop that makes red dots less defined for my eyes. If not for that, I would always say Aimpoint Micro.
I have two Eotechs. They are not small, especially the AA battery version, which is also a little heavy. The CR123 battery version is a little better. They don’t work with polarized sunglasses... I found out the hard way. Also have some issues in cold weather, hence the federal lawsuit. They do work with my defective eyes however.
Little red dots are the cat’s meow on small sub gun pistols. I have a now dated MRDS on a HK MP5K clone, which is real similar to the Vortex Venom. So light to be unnoticeable on a small gun, but just perfect.
Vortex may be Chinese-made optics, but impressed with the value and warranty . Been using their Spitfire etched reticle red dot. It is heavy, but works with my astigmatism. I will likely buy more. Would not recommend for micro gun however.

I have two of the Holosun optics on M&P pistols, and I'm very happy with them. One is an earlier model, one the new model with the side battery tray. Definitely an improvement, but not a deal killer when the battery is good for ~ a year.

Mine was installed in October, 2016. It's lightweight, but solid. I have shot over 5,000 rounds of .45 acp since, and it's still going strong. I've had to re-zero about once a year. I like it that you don't have to remove it from the gun to replace the battery. The only glitch of a sort is that I have to re-tighten the battery cover after every use, but that's no biggie. Vortex supplies a small double-ended screwdriver for the elevation and windage screws and the battery cover.

Of all of the red dot optics I own I really like my Sig Romeo 3 the best. It's a little bit bigger than a standard sized RMR(Venom, Delta point, Fast Fire) with a riser mount and low mount option.

If you have not used a red dot before you should try one out at the store before buying. I had an EOTech on an AR and it was worthless to me due to my astigmatism. Instead of a reticle it had a starburst. Just last week I decided to put a red dot on my new Sig P320 X Compact. I wanted the Sig Romeo 1 Pro as it would mount directly on the gun without an adapter. So I started looking for one. I finally found one that, luckily for me, was mounted on a gun. It was not a red dot to me. It was a red blob. The LGS clerk told me to try the Leupold variant. It was a red line. Then he said try the Holosun. It worked for me. I already had a Holosun on my Sig Rattler and it works perfectly for me. I'm told that Holosun acutually makes the Sig electro optics. Don't know for a fact that this is true???
I think the idea of the "RMR" type sights on a pistol or larger size on an SBR are great. With the caveat of trying it before you buy to see if it will work for you.
Having used the Holosun on my Rattler, I would highly recommend it. I like the feature that allows it to "go to sleep" and wakes up when you move it. Saves battery life and makes it available without having to manipulate switches.

Probably the coolest new red dot I've seen this year is the Meprolight Foresight. I'd take it over a eotech everyday of the week.

I suspicioned there was some Class 3 NFA shenanigans going on there but it wasn't clear. Now it is perfectly clear.
I'm going to my Class 3 FFL tomorrow, bringing him my Mepro, and doing the paperwork for the suppressor. The AR pistol should be ready in as many weeks as ATF takes to handle the paperwork.

I have a cheap Bushnell red dot on a Ruger MKIV pistol, a Vortex Strikefire II on one AR, and a Aimpoint PRO on another.
Gonna call Vortex tomorrow to see if they still make the SPARC II. Amazon claims they'll have them by the end of the month, but all the venders I checked no longer carry them. Kinda like thir new model SPARC because it takes regular AAA batteries.
Trying to like the new Aimpoint ACRO P-1. Looks like a box, but I really like Aimpoint.

Was just thinking how I'd like the 65moa circle and a dot in the middle.
As far as I know only Eothech and Holosun offers that.
I'm glad I'm taking my time picking one....I've never not knew what I wanted before. This is starting to suck.

I thought I'd give Holosun a try, and bought this one. I liked the option of a circle reticle with a dot, or just a dot.
I hope their as good as the reviews.

I use the Holosun 510 on my Sig Rattler.
Here's a photo. Sort of hard to see, but this is the only photo I have of it now.
