The seldom-seen 8-3/4" Ruger Single Seven .327 Magnum
I know there are a lot of .32 fans on the Forum here so I thought I'd show off my latest Ruger .327 Magnum.

I'm a 32 junkie who loves long barrels.
So that hawgleg is right up my alley.
Is that a Lipsey's exclusive?

Well, yes and no. (Not to be pedantic but all Single Sevens are Lipsey's exclusives.)
I had bought a 7-1/2" stainless Single Seven when they first came out and hoped they would bring out a .327 in blue with a 9-1/2" barrel. After a couple of years I decided that wasn't going to happen so I decided to make my own.
I bought a blue 4-5/8" Single Seven Ruger(R) New Model Single-Six(R) Single-Seven™ Single-Action Revolver Model 8165 and found a 9-1/2" .22 barrel on eBay. I sent the barrel out to be rebored to .32 caliber and took the gun and barrel to my local gunsmith back in February. After about four months I decided I should call and check in.
Turns out they had called me in March but for some reason the message didn't come through. The threads on the Single Six barrel were smaller than the Single Seven barrel so it wouldn't just screw right in. Dang! So we decided he could cut off the threaded part and rethread to the new diameter and pitch. That's why it's an 8-3/4" and not a 9-1/2".
Here are the before and after pictures. Please excuse the difference in lighting. You can readily see the difference in the barrel threads.
As you can see the shortened barrel cuts into the warning label some. I had thought about having the barrel clocked to put that on the bottom but that would have meant that the old ejector rod housing screw hole would be visible (it is now under the housing). Likewise for the front sight screw hole.
Anyway I just picked the gun up this afternoon and thought I'd post some pics. Maybe now Lipsey's will make some!

Here's the long retired Blackhawk in 327. The grips are from Karl Nill.

I got around to shooting the gun earlier in the week, along with a couple of other Ruger siblings. Here's the 8-3/4" Single Seven that I just had built.
This is a 7-1/2" Single Seven that I bought in 2014.
And this is an SP101 that I found used in 2018, at the same local gun shop that ordered the stainless Single Seven for me.
For comparison, here is the custom 8-3/8" .327 Smith & Wesson that Andy Horvath built for me. The seldom-seen 8-3/8" K32
It's pretty clear that my shooting standing is nothing near shooting from the bench. If you can't read my notes, all shooting was done at 50 feet using American Eagle 100gr JSP ammo.

I'm loading up some .32 S&W Long wadcutters today. If I could find some small pistol magnum primers I would load up some more .327 with H110. Fortunately I have a good supply of small (and large) pistol primers, but the magnum ones are rare as hen's teeth these days. I think that I could use small rifle primers for the magnum loads, but also know that they are harder and I might get light strikes.
