Default Recall

I gave all of my rifles and shotguns and most of my handguns to my grandson and great grandson when I sold my house and moved into a senior independent living facility.
Lately with things as they are, I have been feeling the need for a rifle. One
of the rifles that I gave them was a 243 Mossberg 800 with a good variable scope. It was like new and still is. My grandson brought it back yesterday with some of the ammo that I had.
He was happy to bring it back, hadn't taken it to the range but one time in six years. They are more interested M1's, AR's and that type of rifles. I know the scope was on the money when I parted with it but will check it out. Makes me feel better than just having a 9mm carbine. He will get it back someday.

I'm not familiar with that type of rifle will look it up , hope you are able to try it out soon . My brother with heath issues moved into assisted living , he gave a Savage 300 and couple shotguns to a our deer hunter cousin .

Must be nice to be in a facility where they do not freak over firearms. In CA they would arrest you.

Perhaps it's because he is in Oklahoma.

The Mossberg 800's were very popular here at one time. I never see any for sale anymore. I guess everyone who has one is hanging on to it.

Default Rifle in zero after sitting for years

I took my grandkids to the range last Sat with a Remington 700 in 223 cal and with a Leupold scope attached, that hadn't been fired in 12 years. Everything was right on at 50 yards. I expected to have to make some adjustments.

My daughter moved in before I did and she would have never moved in if they had banned firearms.. Firearms are never mentioned in any of the paperwork.
There is an open field of about thirty acres with a heavily forested creek just across a four lane street. In the daytime we have had warnings that a coyote and bobcat have been seen on our property. It would be nice to see what roams at night. I wish that the coyotes and bobcats would eat all of the permanent geese on the lake. Even though they clean the sidewalks around the lake the goose poop is all over and you have to be careful where you step.
