Glock prices
Now I know folks are panicky right now, availability is down and prices are up, but HOLY COW! I'm seeing Glock 19 prices on GB going at a grand! With LE trade in 2nd gens around 800! Is this happening in your area or is the internet just insane right now?

I guess I should consider myself lucky that I scored a brand new Glock 17 Gen 5 FDX (which seems to be an odd transitional variant between the Gen 4 and 5) for about $550 in late June.

I thought the new Gen 3 19 at my LGS was high at $579.
I picked up a slightly used Gen 3 26 for $349 a month ago.
My FFL said Glock prices haven’t went up but they haven’t been available for over 2 months.

You're doing well to even find anything available nowadays. Buds for example, which usually has about 3 or 4 pages of Glocks, has about two available now on average. And one is the 22lr. And it's not just Glocks, almost everything is unavailable and what is available is commanding ridiculous prices. If you can hold off on purchases you'll be better off, unless you either absolutely need something or have baskets of disposable cash...

True, and that's the good news. Distributors are not price gouging and none of mine has raised any prices as far as I can tell.

When my local FFL`s have a Glock they are still reasonably priced...5 to 600 depending on model but they are gone in about 30 seconds. Seems they then go on Armslist for 800 to 900...

High demand makes high prices I guess. The first AR ban sent rifles into the stratosphere.

On the bright side, the more folks who are buying guns, the more folks who are likely to vote for Pro-2A candidates, so these gun shortages most likely indicate a huge influx of new firearms owning citizens, and seeing as they bought them mostly for security, that means they aren't going to want to give them up, so at the very least, they won't be voting for candidates who are for Gun Control.
Also, most Glocks are double-stack "high capacity" firearms, so any attempts to push magazine capacity restrictions will most likely be dead on arrival.

It's just the internet cause there are none for sale in local stores. Folks whipped them out weeks and weeks ago.
On a related note, a month ago one lonely local store I visited had a brand spanking new 19x for $589.
Notice I said HAD ... LOL

At my friends LGS a Glock 34 is $569.00. No price gouging. And, they keep a box of ammo aside for each gun they sell.

Bought a 17L like new in April off of a firearms forum for 575 including shipping. Also had a stainless guide rod. My FFL guy said that I stole it.

I was in a store today and the clerk showed me a Glock 325 or maybe 365, anyway a sub compact model held 12 or so rounds for around $525. He also had some subcompact CZ's with around the same capacity. I didn't look at those prices. He said they have been moving a lot of them, had about ten in counter. I really just wanted a box of .38special, but they hardly had any pistol ammo. He said a tad of 9mm and some 10 mm., that was it. Looked like a lot of shotguns on the rack and long hunting rifles. This is redneck country, and I bet most everyone had enough guns before this hit.

Never thought that Glocks and polymer SIGs could be out of stock in my area (Midwest), but they are, lol.
On the other hand, there are some nice all-metal compact-to-full size guns still available for the same price as in March... I bought an almost new CZ P-01 Omega for $375 around April.
Last week there was even a S&W manufactured PPK/S-1 not moving off the shelf for $200 less than online.
Plenty of nice revolvers available, too.
(not necessarily cheap, but available)
As for .38 spl ammo, I found a single box of LRN two weeks ago at a local farm supply store, that's it!

They are still in stock at the Blue Label desk at Outdoors Unlimited in Smyrna GA. The regular sales counter has less of a selection.
I sold a safe queen Glock 26 Gen4 "Baby Glock" this past spring to fund a new Blue Label G20SF 10mm

I succumbed to the fever less than a year ago when I bought a brand new Glock M45.
I had some difficulty with it's point of aim/point of impact. It shot way low. See this thread: My Glock G45 Shoots Low
The Glock service department sent me a higher rear sight. Now it is perfect. It's my "carry around" choice.

I overpaid a touch for a BIN glock 39 at $600, but right before covid they were at 520ish so I didn't mind too much.
But if I didn't specifically want a g39 I would have just waited out the storm before buying any guns right now.

Before this shortage hit I was really close to dumping my G40. Since I found a 610 and I hate chasing brass I figured I could put it towards something more my style. I know one thing it’s not going anywhere for while now.

I have a G30 SF with less than 150 rds through it that i would have not gotten anywhere near $400 for a year ago. Seen used ones with higher round counts in the $700+ range. Amazing. Tempted to put it on GB to see what happens

Don't bother, it's just Scalpers being Scalpers, charging sky-high prices that practically nobody is actually willing to pay.
Besides, I dunno about you, but on the off chance that someone actually did buy, then I would feel like a scumbag over it, thinking of how I screwed over some poor sap who was terrified beyond the point of reason, so desperate for a firearm to protect himself and his family that he was willing to grossly overpay for it.

Checked my LGS and their inventory is the lowest I've ever seen...with no clue when shipments will come in. Another LGS always has 70+ gunbroker listings going and usually new glocks, benellis, and HKs. I follow his listings because I could buy on gunbroker for less than his store price for awhile and bought a Glock 41 a couple years ago. His new Glock 41 auction ended last night at $930 plus s/h/ffl. So some people are still payment >$900 for new Glocks. He only has a dozen or so guns listed too.

Right now at the pawn shop where I work I couldn’t get you an empty Glock box. We usually have around 90 handguns with most being used. We now have 12, 1 is used. ARs that in December we couldn’t give away have been gone for 2 months, if I happen to get one now it doesn’t last 2 hours.

Good luck trying to feed one. But then again I guess those paying $1000 for a Glock won't be too put off by paying 50 cents or more a round for ammo. I went poking around today on a few forum classifieds and web sites and found 9mm as high as 65 cents per round for regular old FMJ that was selling full retail for for 17-18 cents in February. The aluminum or steel cased and re-manufactured stuff was 40-50 cents. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing I have plenty of components and can load lead for under 9 cents.

I wonder how many of those cheated newbies will feel bad after the too-expensive gun saves them and their family...
