Default Range report on Colt Trooper

Back in late June I posted that I finally gave in to those unnatural urges and bought a Colt. For those of you that missed it, it was an old model Trooper (aka poor man's Python) and here it is

Well, I've been playing with it quite a bit and I have to say I'm liking it. The trigger feel is very different, but I'm getting used to it.

Here is my best effort to date; 50 yards 1 handed single action (NRA Bullseye style) with .38 wad cutters

Now I only see 9 holes, but I think one is a double. I call my shots, nothing felt bad enough to be completely off the backer, and I heard bullet slap on all 10 shots

I don't know, I think might need a few more colt revolvers. This is BAD!

Many of these old Colt revolvers are very fine shooters as evidenced by your target.

It's refreshing to know of someone shooting Bullseye style and at a distance beyond 10 or 15 yards. Acceptable 50 yard Bullseye shooting remains elusive for me, but it's challenging and I really enjoy it. I can do a little better at 25 yards.

Impressive shooting! Great revolver, I have a 4" variation of the early trooper in .357. They are beautiful service revolvers and shoot really well. Thank you for sharing!

The Colt Lawman has the Mark III action, which was invented by Karl Lewes, who also designed the Dan Wesson and Browning Lever Action. In 1953 Colt introduced the .357 and Trooper in 22LR and 38 Special, the Python was introduced in 1956. The Colt O frame holds up better to .357s than the K frame, IMHO that's why S&W introduced the L frame. The Colt Officer's Model Match was one of the premier target revolvers in its day, the .357/Trooper is its service counterpart.
Had my Trooper since 1972.

BLACKHAWKNJ,

I think you mean the E/I frame. I believe the O frame is the 1911 Government Model
