Of the five Bucks I own, the 119 would be my favorite for all around utility, but the smaller 102 is a handy size for EDC. When hunting deer or elk, I carry a Buck Pro Line 193-1. Each Buck I own has a special use or feature.

119 for sure
My vote is for the 119. My favorite Buck is the 110. The 119 is a very close second. I have given 119s to multiple family and friends. JA

Buck 118 Personal. I got one in the early 1970's, used it for many years and now it's my daughters.

lonestar57,
I have a Model 119 like yours. Mine came from Copper & Clad and was an exclusive of theirs. See if yours has a number on it like mine. When mine was made, they had numbered the first certain amount, not sure how many. Mine is number 032. Here are a few pictures:

Here is a picture of all my Buck knives. You can see the 2 fixed sheathed ones I have. One is Elk Horn and the other is White Horn.

The 119 is my favorite:
Top down:
5160 blade, black Phenolic handle, brass guard/pommel.
S30V blade, red Micarta handle
Alaskan Guide S30V blade, Rosewood handle, brass guard/pommel
420HC blade, flat ground.

@lonestar57. Those smooth bone Bucks came from BassPro they were discontinued when Cabels and Basspro merged. They came in brown sheaths. Model 102,105,119 also a 110.
What is the date code on your 119?
I always hoped they’d offer new models with the smooth bone Handles. It would be cool to have a whole set.
Copper and Clad recently had a batch of 119’s but they are sold out now. Beautiful knives.

My favorite model is the 124. It’s a big knife that carries well. That last picture of the boot add is for you Texas Star. Nice to see you posting again.

I have not customized all of my Buck Knives. This knife is a Model 192 from the Buck Custom Shop. It is the "Elk Tracks" with a Sambar Stag handle and an Elk cutout blade. The presentation case is also from Buck.

I like clip points, I like the 119. Be interested in trying out one of the S30V blades from the custom shop, I just have a standard. It works really well in the roles I ask it to. Short money too. I experience no guilt putting it to hard use, and it doesn’t disappoint. I love the blade shape, for my purposes.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm still not fully recovered, but have a laptop and can post.
I once tracked down the story behind that Nocona boot ad and published an article on it in, I believe, Knife World. The artist paints with great detail, as he studies his props. You can see the full tang edge on that Model, the snake's throat, etc.
I like Model 124 as a heavy knife, but the handle is a bit too thick for top comfort. (For my hand.)

I like that the handle is too thick on the 124. Lots of material to work with to thin and shape it.
The old 124’s are about perfectly sized and shaped, the new ones are blocky but there is lots of material to work with for sure.
