Default Suggestion for a New Forum Area

Re: this thread about the NRA:

Time to support the NRA

As you know, I have been "jailed" (banned) here at S&W Forum twice for talking about political things (i.e., U.S. knife laws and a shooting/murder video). Here's my suggestion: create a Politics Forum. Just one. That way, members can vent about political things without being banned; spell out clear forum rules but at the same time, don't go over-board, either. Heck, I would even be willing to mod that one (I've modded other forums).

Food for thought.

I belonged to other forums that had a political free-for-all section, and all the bad blood generated there never stayed there.

Typical:

“Here are some pictures of my new gun! Whaddya guys think?”

Reply: “Only a libtard like you would like that!”

Good luck with your quest, but I like the banned subjects list.

(This should probably be in the Lounge or Forum Office area)

That thread lasted.......not.

It’s bad enough with the endless OC threads.

I am on forums that have Political Sections and also ones that do not allow any political posting. In my opinion, there are plenty of forums that feature political posting, and that is where I go to do just that. All the ones that I am a member of that has one has had lots of problems with them and I have seen forums that had good information about the topic that the forum was intended to be for, ruined and over run by political posting even with only one section for it and then membership to that forum applied for and granted.

I try not to even post here about any gun company but Smith and Wesson, which is why I signed up.

Bob

Wrong.
You were not suspended for talking about knife laws and a murder. You were suspended for talking POLITICS and racial/ethnic issues. PERIOD.
Don't remember?
I'll quote them for you:

What kind of granola-eating, dope-smoking, Obama-voting pinkos do they have running that state? I live in free AZ., right next door. We're free. So far. I am saddened and heart-broken at the Soviet State of Commiefornia right next door. Is this America anymore? No. It's not. We all better wake up and stop eating donuts in front of the TV and start getting serious about our gun and knife rights.

What? You say "political posts are banned here"? Some things must trump mere rules and regulations. Some things just need to be said. So I said them. Do what you must, mods. You wanna go Soviet as well, then do it. Hope you don't.

It turned out that your sensational post was not based in fact-

Perhaps I was off on one of the laws, but not by much: read this:

and the other one-

The day is soon coming where Western Man will be disarmed. Be warned and prepare accordingly. Of course, there is a better solution: return the West into Western hands. Look up the word "Western" if you can't picture that in your mind. Half of our "leaders" today aren't Western. They are pretenders to the throne, posers, usurpers, mongrels of every stripe and creed. Look at Biden: a brain-dead pervert is gonna lead us? Really??

Now, to address your question-

First, you posted this in a discussion forum for firearms and knives.
If you clicked Forum in the navigation bar and looked at the main menu, you would see:
Quote:
FORUM OFFICE
This Area is For Any Complaints, Suggestions or Questions That You Might Have about forum operations.
Hmmmmmm......I wonder what that is for?

Now, the answer- NO.
Years ago, we had a forum for politics.

That is exactly what happened.

This board is about S&W. We have a forum for 2A issues. Those are the only two essential topics here. All the rest is fluff. I am not inclined nor obligated to listen to political rants by family, friends, acquaintances, or forum members, so I am certainly not inclined or obligated to provide a forum for political rants.

Well, given your statement here....

...and your failure to comprehend the two dings quoted above, and your failure to post in the correct forum,
why am I lacking confidence in your performance as a moderator?

So, there you have the answer.
We don't do general political discussion.
There is a great big internet out there. I'm sure you can find a place which suits you better.

I'll leave this here a day or two and then move it to The Office.
