Default SAR K2 C range test

Despite my dislike of single action .45s I had forgotten how much I like shooting full sized .45s, especially traditional double action which I totally adore, because other than my CS-45 I have not owned a large .45 ACP pistol in years. I couldn't resist buying this Turkish pistol when I saw it on Classic Firearms and I am glad that I did.

We shot a lot of guns yesterday on my friends' farm so I didn't give this pistol the workout it deserved but it was fun to shoot. It shoots a little low and to the left so I'll adjust the sights next time I take it out but, nonetheless, it performed very well and it just felt so great to have a big ol' .45 pistol in my hands again.

I went looking for a replacement for a Para Ordinance P-14 I should not have let go, and I ran across a SAR K2 45acp. It also holds 14 rounds and will actually use the P-14 mags!

It's a bit heavier that the Lightweight P-14 (which had an alloy frame), but being all steel, it should be. Mine had a few hiccups in the first 75 rounds or so, but has worked itself through them. I'm really pleased with it's performance & accuracy. Mine was originally owned by someone else, so I'm assuming that person put the wood grips on it, which I like quite well.

Betwee the weight of the gun and it's rotating barrel, the recoil is very mild. I'm going to do my best to hang on to this one.

looks rather CZ'ish. I like the looks of it but am betting the hi cap mag makes the grip larger than my Hobbit hands would find comfortable

Unless they've changed the design since I bought mine, the action is just like a CZ-97 with a tiliting barrel. The Grand Power P45 and the Beretta PX4 in 45 are the only ones I know with rotating barrels.
