I seldom win anything, but did win a pair of NIB long guns at a recently held raffle to support gun and hunting rights/awareness, etc.. I was hoping to be the winner of any of the handguns, especially the 1911, but I'm not at all complaining.
One of the raffled guns is a bolt action Remington 783 chambered in 7mm-08, and with a 3-9 x 40 Vortex scope mounted on it. Till now I have never owned anything of that caliber, but have heard about how good of a deer/elk hunting round it is. I'm guessing that it would make for a fun hog-hunt gun too, if there were any hogs to hunt around here. Not sure yet what I'm going to do with this one since I hunt small game only.
The other prize is a Mossberg 500. I'll keep it and use it. But with a super smooth shooting '54 vintage Winchester Model 12 in the safe, the 500 will not be used a whole lot. Good to have anyway since it, like the 930, chambers 3" shells
