Default What's your EDC blade?

This is my Kershaw Leak stainless steel made in USA. I don't purchase expensive knives, so this is probably the best blade I own. IMO it is a excellent knife and holds it's edge well. It is so ridiculously sharp I have trouble cleaning it without cutting myself. I also like the case lock feature, so it can't open in my pocket. I don't leave home without it. What blade do u EDC?

Thumbs up

Benchmade 3 1/4" blade with half serrated/half straight blade. It rides in my pliers pocket all day every day.

I have 3 depending on the situation.
For general it’s my Microtech OTF, for traveling in areas where autos are illegal, my Spyderco, for out in the boonies its my Zero Tolerance due to the heft and rugged build of the blade.

I have several Kershaw assisted opening knives, and many lockblades including Buck, Gerber, Benchmade, Spyderco, Coldsteel, etc. but the knife I carry mostly is a Lightning out the front automatic.

When in casual wear I have a Benchmade Phaeton clipped in the right front pocket and a Swiss Army Tinker down in the left front. (Someone once said, "one is none.")

When I have to dress up a little the Phaeton stays home and the SAK will suffice.

My box of pocket knives is not quite as out of hand as my box of holsters, but it is close.

Cold Steel Ti-Lite VI.

It's basically a modern take on the classic stiletto "Switchblade" style of knife, except it isn't spring-assisted, you open it with your thumb and a flick of the wrist, so it's legal practically anywhere that it's legal to carry a knife.

Exclamation Knifes Out

My EDC knife is a cheap $1.99 Sheffield (Menard's Black Friday
many years ago).

I keep a perfect edge on it using a Lansky Sharpening Kit.
It appears to hold and keep an Edge really good.

Cheap, Small, Clips and easily conceals inside Jean pocket.
Just a handy little knife.

I carry the SOG Spec Elite II, the one with the 4.75 inch blade. It's illegal most places but I carry it anyway. Like someone once said, "No matter what you do, you break SOME law."

A Milwaukee, because I’m not a threat or carrying an illegal knife when I’m in the city. I was just doing some construction work earlier and forgot it was clipped in my pocket

I am currently carrying this custom by "57toolmaker"
(Instagram) out of Durham, NC. He makes everything excep the screws, and he is quite reasonable in price. He will make to your specifications.

I'm not sure who or where it's made, but I bought it at Grainger. It's all black, spring-assist with a safety on it, on the blade it says Smith & Wesson S.W.A.T. with the S&W logo; the other side of the blade has several US patent numbers on it. Drop point blade, very sharp (I use a stone on it fairly often) and has a clip for on my belt or to clip it inside my pocket. Best $45 ever spent on a knife.

A 1920 Schrade Cutlery Co. "safety button" knife (aka "switchblade") given to me by a good friend. It belonged to his wife's grandfather. My friend gave it to me with the words, "This is a working man's knife. I want you to use it!" And I do, almost every day, cutting the string on hay bales, opening feed sacks, opening mail, etc. Great steel. Takes a good edge and holds it. You can't ask for much more than that for an everyday carry.

The Delica handle is just about perfect for me compared to bigger knives(such as the Endura) or smaller ones (like the Dragonfly) for getting the knife out of the pocket and opened up quickly and reliably with minimal adjustments in grip, but that primarily applies only if defensive use figures into your possible reasons for carrying a knife.

I had originally wanted to get one of the Kahr Delicas, but they were out of production by the time I was seriously looking. I could buy a new Delica and have it modified for less than the prices I was seeing for the Kahr Delicas.

I have a Spyderco Ladybug, but as you said, the handle is really small. I ended up attaching a lanyard for a little extra gripping length, but it's not the same as a proper handle.

Another reason I wanted to get a shortened Delica. Like you, I find the handle size well-suited for my hands.

For the last 3 or 4 years, it has been these three, plus the little ChannelLocks. There is some redundancy there. The Alox Electrician gives me all the blades I need, plus a punch and a couple of other tools. I really like the way the Opinel cuts, however, and I carry the Okapi mostly for its oddity, as well as for the very handy sheepsfoot.

Many days I will add a pocket-sised fixed blade, usually a Becker BK14, or a short-bladed Anza if I am doing some mechanical work.

Kershaw Leek for the Office and dress pants... BIG +1

Kershaw #1935 Fat Back for jeans and cargo shorts ... This model is "baby Bear " not to big , not to small ...it's just right for everyday carry !

What I like about these Kershaw,s legal one handed assisted opening and if lost the price doesn't bother you ...using knives get lost / damaged and if used in a self defense situation it will be taken as evidence and there's a good chance the court will not return it to you ...trust me on this one !

I was gifted this Spyderco Navigator GIN-1 experimental stainless (G10) knife in 1999. Carried it on and off duty since. Incredibly sharp and very well made, and small enough to carry using the clip or in your pocket.

Default Kershaw Hinderer

Mine is a Kershaw Hinderer 1555TI. I de-horn it by removing all the thumb studs so it melts into my pocket. I've given a few as gifts and the recipients carry them as EDC's. It's the only knife I've owned that is safe and easy to open one handed, and is usable. Blade steel is nothing special, but easy to sharpen. Cheap enough to have a duplicate backup if I lose it.

You made a good choice, my Kershaw Leek is the black nitrite finish, and it has held up well having been carried daily since 2006.

I’ve been carrying a Kershaw Blur for years. Easy one handed opening, durable, not too big. I sent it back to Kershaw a couple of years ago to have the clip replaced, carried one of my spare Blur’s while my old one was away. Kershaw replaced the clip, replaced the spring and sharpened it, all for free. Couldn’t beat that for customer service.

For a modern one handed knife a Kershaw ripple or a Spydico Manix.

I always have a Swiss Army Knife in my pocket. Often I have a Kershaw Link or if I want slim and light, a Kershaw Leek.

For me, knives are tools. I don't subscribe to the appeal of high-end knives. Kershaw knives are good enough and cheap enough for my purposes. Conversely, to some folks handguns are just tools and they don't understand the infatuation with certain handguns. They would be baffled at my slobbering over a Triple Lock or Registered Magnum. Neither group is right or wrong. Whatever floats your boat!

Swiss Army Knife, a Christy sliding blade knife attached to my car keys, and one tactical-type knife. I switch off.

I see I need to upload more pictures!

I keep a Schrade Uncle Henry 3-blade penknife in my pocket all the time mostly for opening things. The sheepsfoot blade makes for a great box cutter when you don't want to cut too deeply into a package.

I also keep a Gerber Suspension multi-tool in the door pocket of my truck (and another on my desk) for the occasional light chore that requires a small pair of pliers, blade or screwdriver and I don't want to go digging thru my toolkit.
