About forty years ago, I wrote to Marlin about an 1894 in 38/40 I had bought. That gun was traded off for who knows what but I still have the info. The serial number is 108,985. The rifle was shipped 9/21/1894. If you have the rifle, contact me and I'll send the letter to you.
