Default Gunbroker bidding after auction close on Springfield 45

I followed this auction because I have one very close to this one's condition, and I have never seen the bidding go on so long after the 8 pm central, close time. I checked it at around 3 am, and it had just finished. The losing bidder looks to have tried to outlast his opponent, while the winner seems to of put his bid and went to bed. Interesting strategy.

That dealer has been putting out some of the most beautiful firearms for the past six months or more. He says it was a 40 year old collection, the guy had great taste is all I can say.
I've gotten tied up with the 15 minute rule and it can go on for as long as everybody keeps bidding.

A man's got to know his limitations. Bid what you'll pay and put it out of your mind. Otherwise you'll drive yourself nuts trying to figure out where the other guy is, and slowly but surely, reach out past your own limit just trying "to win".

The first day it went from $100 bucks to $2,230, then doubled the next day. I wasn't a bidder, but I did watch it for a day or two. I know my limitations, and it was exceeded the first day. I am not a collector, but enjoy watching bidding on things I like, including the Mecum Auto Auctions.

I recently made a purchase from this same dealer and it dragged on quite a while past the original deadline. It was both exciting and frustrating at the same time. He does have some excellent firearms.

Thanks! I have kind of been infatuated with the collection he is liquidating, and ended up buying a Banker’s Special. The Trapdoor that just sold is amazing:

When ever I sell something on an auction site I always hope for two people that just have to have it.
But I always have to laugh when one or both of the bidders raises his bid by the minimum amount a bunch of times.

I was able to pick up an RM from that collection ( at the wife’s insistence). She said because we haven’t been able to go on trips, or restaurants, and she knew I really wanted it ,why not. She’s a keeper.
