Default Couple Deer camp deals......

Picked up a re-worked Colt 1911 70 series
and a couple old Remington Nylon 66's....which are not in my loop
and will need a little research.
Colt is an old coppers piece.

Nylon 66s are nice rifles.

Yeah nice looking group. Mohawk Brown and Apache Black I believe. Popular with collectors these days. Often seem like rifles made before their time.

Yep, those Nylons have an almost cult following these days. They get some really prices for them lately.

Like the pimped up 1911, shiny.
Let’s see that holster hidden behind it. Looks like the makings of a fancy barbecue rig. 😎

I am definitely aware of the history of the Nylon 66 but I’ve found every single one of them to be homely. I think they look like low budget BB guns.

They certainly do have a cult following these days. I’d flip ‘em!

Love Nylon guns. I have a Seneca Green one, here on the right. I didn't recognize it was SG until I got it home. It's the rarest of the Nylon guns, and neither I nor the guy who owned it knew it at the time. Mine is in 99% condition.

Even made a bolt action Nylon. Considered one back in the day but Ruger won me over with their 10/22 in walnut. Sure made for a handy rifle.

Man! I like those Rem Nylon 66s. The Lever Drop Bolt
and Bolt Action are the neatest. I’ve got to handle both
back in the day.

I’m always on the look out for one and a good deal,
but probably never will find one.

Thank you for Sharing and taking to time to post
Pictures. The Best to you and your Endeavors.

Back in the 60's one of our high school buddies came squirrel hunting with us carrying his new Nylon 66. We all laughed at him for carrying a plastic gun. For some reason he took exception to that and never went hunting with us again. *s*

15-22 probably has more plastic than a Nylon 66. It was rifle before it's time. Back then they also offered Nylon bolt guns, lever guns and single shots. There is a GS about 40 mi. from here that has the ENTIRE run of models on the wall.

When Remington quit with the nylon 66. A company called G96 made them. They made a lot in seneca green.

Those Nylon’s are the BOMB. Great find for you on all 3 guns. Congratulations.

That black and chrome model is highly sought after. The Mohawk brown rifle is I think the most common variation.

The bolt action Nylon was a model 11 which is pretty uncommon ….. especially if it’s got the 24 inch barrel that I think was only made maybe the first year or two.

Ya done good.

The only lever action made by Remington, supposedly, was the Nylon 76.
I’ve had two, purchased cheap at farm or household auctions.
I flipped them quickly because the action on both were TERRIBLE.
They seemed both broken in the same manner.
The lever cycled but felt like some plastic somewhere was getting mashed.
I knew they were rare, they just compared very poorly to my 9422.

Mike, do you have a link to G96? The only thing I can find is a gun cleaner/lube.
