have you had bad experience dealing with gun broker on line ? They have many bad reviews on the internet.

Bad reviews for Gunroker itself? I haven't had any issues with Gunbroker, but have ran into a few bad sellers and buyers. I've had the same with Ebay and other sites as well though.

Not being suspicious or skeptical, I view online "reviews" as spurious. I am informed that a huge percentage of "reviews" pertaining to firearms and/or conservative sites are created by people — perhaps organized groups of people — to create suspicion, doubt, cognitive dissonance about the activity and people involved.

Anticipating you became annoyed at my using five words where one would do the job, always suspect trolls of doing the lousy reviewing.

Gunbroker is fantastic and while I too viewed it with much skepticism a decade or so ago when I made my account, my review today would be that I have no doubt whatsoever that it's been a positive for me and MUCH more beyond simply that. It's relevance to my collection has been very, very large.

A lot of one's success is due to one's approach. I find the same thing with gun discussion forums. You can find countless folks who rail against "false bs nonsense written by nameless people on the internet" but if you have a level of skill at finding WHO to listen to and WHAT to take away from what you read, it's a massive, ridiculous success.

Folks that are certain to claim otherwise lack the skill. Sucks for them. Over here in my world, I'm killing it. It's a bummer that I can't teach 'em how to get more.

I have no problem with GB as a company. Now some of the sellers are suspect at best. As an example, one guy was selling a M28. Clearly the forcing cone had been filed to gain B?C clearance. I contacted him. He said yup sure looks like it. He should have been reported, because he did nothing about it

Another guy is selling a gun with a 6" bbl, 2 engineering changes and several years before it was offered. Contacted him. You may be right. Gun is still up to hang on somebody.

Another guy on GI, sells nothing that isn't excellent ( in his mind and description). However, it is backed by his lifetime warranty.

There is a big one on GB that sells nice stuff, but sometimes it is not quite original.

You just have to watch yourself.

I have bought 25 guns in 2 years, and all but 3 came from this forum.

Gunbroker is not the problem, they are a service. Yes, you will get those that complain that the 15 minute bid rule cuts out sniping, but that is a minor issue compared to being on the wrong end of a dodgy seller.

What many need to remember is that for what they charge, GB are not going to be in the business of checking and arbitrating every sale.

I've had two problem buys on GB.

First one, the seller (a pawn shop) stood behind it, even paid for shipping back which I didn't expect. But then they said "a gunsmith" said there was nothing wrong with it, which was ludicrous. But whatever, they took it back so it's not my problem. I saw them relist it tho, with pictures that didn't show the developing damage, so the next buyer was probably unhappy too.

Second one, I was insufficiently careful and was taken in by their "omitted to mention". But the price was not wildly out of line and it was at least partly my fault, so I just let it stand.

Other guns have all been fine, as represented.

GB is fine with me. Always be aware of the seller. I've seen guns I would like to bid on but didn't like the look of the seller for one reason or another so passed on them. I won't buy from someone who won't send through an FFL at least not on GB. I've always had good experiences with GB as an auction site.

I have used GB as both a buyer and seller with no problems. As a seller you get a nation wide market and as a buyer you can get some real bargains.

The only issue I've had with Gunbroker is that lately the emails they send to remind you that bidding is almost over are sent well after the close of bidding.

Gunbroker is a great site.

If a seller won't provide a 100% return within a short timeframe after receiving the firearm on your end, walk away.

If they won't provide good/better pictures of critical areas of the firearm, walk away.

If they make claims and won't back them up (or can't because the evidence doesn't exist), walk away OR only bid on what's there. Better to bid and win at a reasonable price and have it turn out to be the gun Elvis used to shoot TVs, than assume it was based on the seller's description and have it turn out to have been shipped to France in 1985.

Set a top and stick to it. Other similar guns will come along. Let others overpay. I've bid on a few dozen guns and won about 10 of them, which I think is a good ratio if you're sticking to your, ah, guns.

Based on my GB feedback score, I guess I've bought and sold 40 or so guns in the last decade.

Well for me Gunbroker, (and Gunauction,) has for the most part worked out very well. Since I am mostly looking for specific “items” at this point I don’t have too many options. I sure can’t find what I want locally.

I have established “a relationship” with a few sellers and that can pay off. I won’t say how.

I agree that tenured sellers with their great pictures and reputation is usually a safe buy. But sometimes a low count seller can really work out. Everyone has to start at zero at first. Great pictures and a return policy are important. Others sometimes don’t know what they are selling or have incorrectly said what it is. Many people don’t pay attention to the pictures and pass.

One of the best buys I got on GB was a MPC 845 from a new seller. Super nice gal, super nice pistol and price.

I started using GB and a couple of other sites about 15 years ago. If it wasn't for GB (Mostly), I would have a lot more money and a lot less guns. I've never had a gun that wasn't as described, or better. But I know what I'm buying and keep a strict limit as to how much I will spend. Ask questions, look at the pics really closely. Save them to your desktop and enlarge them to look the gun over closely. Anything looks off, ask about it and sometimes it's just the angle and the finish of the gun that looks off. I've had a couple that didn't look all that great because the pics were horrible, but when they showed up, they looked almost brand new. One guy had a ton of well priced Beretta 92FS's, like 50, and I bought one of the cheaper ones, with a "Buy it now". All the guns had the original plastic case along with the paperwork, etc. Mine was a standard black one, but he had two tones and SS ones too. What was "good condition" was actually near new, and other than one tiny mark on the trigger guard, it was perfect. A friend bought two from him, an SS one and a two tone, and they were as nice as mine was. Kind a of nice surprise.

I've had two memorable or exceptional experiences on GB. First was a blue M19-? with a 2-1/2" barrel that looked perfect except the yoke had a blur that I thought was a lighting issue. When I received the gun is was a stain or flaw in the blueing. The rest of the finish was excellent. After 6 months of mental misery, I had the gun refinished. If I had known, I could have bought a better gun with tools, box, and docs for the same cost.

The second memorable purchase was a M29-2. A blue one, 4" barrel, gun only sold for $1,200. Three weeks later another blue M29-2, 4" barrel, of identical quality with tools, box, presentation case, and docs had been listed for 2 weeks, one bid with 7 days to go. I decided on my max bid, and walked away, even forgot about making the bid. I won the auction as high bidder for only $837 including shipping costs.

I had had no problems with the quality or condition of my other purchases. I enlarge pictures and ask questions about finish issues. I did buy one unusual revolver that had a beautiful square butt grip on it. When I opened the package at my FFL, it was a round butt gun with a square butt grip. No problem!! I had the correct grip at home because of a "good deal" on this Forum.

I have no complaints about GB, patiently wait for the next gun at 'my' price because it will come up for auction, and will send the seller a question before making a Last & Final max bid. Two exceptions were a M586 and M19 with very exceptional original grips. I bought the grips, and the revolvers came with the deal, both times at a second, higher max bid.

I probably have over 100 transactions on Gunbroker. I have had ONE transaction that kind of went south. Had my dealer help me out and got a complete refund from the seller.

You have to make sure you know what you are looking for, and as always, BUYER BEWARE!

Just because a seller describes something different than you would doesn't mean they are a dishonest seller. Make sure YOU know what you're looking for and scrutinize the pictures.

It helps to have a savvy dealer.

The dealer I exclusively deal with is great. He handles all my NFA stuff and gets things done quick.

I have been using Gunbroker since 2001.

I've bought on GunBroker probably 3 dozen times, with only one issue. BUYER BEWARE; GunBroker provides tools to be used to investigate sellers, products, etc. But be careful, and if unsure don't bid.

I've been buying guns off of Gunbroker since 2005. They are hands down the best auction site on the net. Check the seller's feedback and any pictures very carefully. If you have a question, ask it. Any seller not capable of responding to a question in a day or two isn't someone I'm likely to do business with. The main benefit to GB in my opinion is for finding things you can't find anywhere else. It took several years, but when the email alert popped up letting me know that a Ruger Mag-Na-Port 22lr was listed it was like winning the lottery (except that I still had to win the auction and pay for it) .

There's a certain somebody here that has been after me for years to try it out . I finally did and bought a lnib CS40 for the same amount I bought one at a show which was used , no box . Plus the guy ended up being 60 miles away . I did my homework , he had over 1200 sales , no complaints .

On the other side of the coin ....... There's a big time dealer here in Fl , gun stores all over , runs gun shows . I make it a point to look at his stuff . It could be a S&W 380 , nothing special , far from it , yet it'll have 15-20 bids . Something wrong , you think ? But like everybody else has said , do your homework . And don't get caught up in a bidding frenzy .

As noted, GB is only a method / manner for a seller to meet a buyer. No way can GB be responsible for monitoring and policing. Do your due diligence and you should be fine. Just because someone may offer a 3 day inspection, how are you going to enforce that? GB surely isn’t going to step in and offer assistance. Look at the reviews, call the seller or send an email and chat. Leave a review. And as far as sniping... go to Ebay if you like staring at a computer all day to hit a button at the last second to save a few bucks. The 15 minute rule gives the seller the most for his sale and gives GB the most commission for their profit.

I had to fight the urge to not bid on a gun a few days ago selling by someone with a 1 feedback. It looked great, the first and only gun he previously sold, like 2 years ago got great feedback, but I resisted, and instead bid on the same model gun, in just as nice condition, from a seller with almost 300 transactions. No CC fee, shipping was $20 not the crazy $50 the guy with the 1 feedback wanted. Sorry, $50 for Priority mail is simply a $35 price increase. I wasn't emotionally invested in the gun I bid on, so as usual 99% of the time, I won it. Final price was $7 more than the total for the 1 feedback seller's gun, so I'm happy.
