Nice pistol. I would like to run across a good shooter grade to desk out with adj sights and see how well one would shoot. I’ve always wondered why the major companies never produced sport model auto pistols in 380 and 32acp.

I think it is because major companies are more interested in making money on popular items rather than tooling up for a cool idea that most folks wouldn't buy.

The FN/Browning Model 71 pistol was pretty close to what you envision I think.
It was actually built to by-pass the GCA68 import restriction on the FN M1910 pocket pistol.
Longer slide, adjust sights, thumb rest grip.
I've never seen anything inside of one that made me think there was any additional factory work done to try and improve the basic pistol's accuracy. But the 1910s are usually quite accurate in most hands anyway, at least in 32acp.
The Model 71 was only offered in 380 I believe.
They didn't sell very well at all and only made 1971 to 74

I wasn't aware there was but one version. Are you sure there was a shorter one?

The Browning 71 is a nice pistol. The grips and sights were added to give it import points, not for accuracy. They do shoot good for a 380, but it was intended as pocket pistol.
