Help with Monson-made Dan Wesson 722-V .22 LR Revolver
I found this revolver at a LGS. It is blued with a 6" ventilated rib interchangeable barrel, and spectacular looking stocks. SN is 19XXX. Is has numerous noticeable scratches on the sideplate. It has a styrofoam box and instructions, but no barrel wrench, metal shim to set barrel spacing, or other tools. I am a member of the Dan Wesson Forum, but do not have permission to post. I emailed their admistrator without response. Does anyone happen to have experience with these guns, who can tell me about build quality and reliability, date of manufacture, and value? If so, please point me ain the right direction and send me a PM. I have a Dan Wesson 1911, but no experience otherwise with their namesake. Thank you very much.

First of all, why do you think it is a model 722?
A 722 would be a stainless revolver.
If it is blued steel than it is a model 22
Here is my Model 22VH-2 with a suppressor attached
This is my Maxwell Smart revolver
I have two Model 22s. One is at serial number 6xxx while the other is at number 23xxx. Both are extremely fine firearms with great fir and a beautiful finish.
Spanner wrenches for the barrel nut are pretty easy to find, there is even a company that manufactures very nice new ones. As to the shim, it is just a .006 feeler gauge. Any mechanics feeler gauge set will have one in it. You can probably get a set from Harbor Freight foe a few bucks and throw all the other sizes in the trash if you like. Personally I keep a complete set so that I can measure the B/C gap on all the other revolvers that do not have removable barrel assemblies

EWK Arms makes spanner wrenches. They were making barrels and shrouds too, but barrels and shrouds have been out of stock for a long time.

The best quality DW revolvers are generally considered to be the ones made in Monson, Mass. This was DW's first location. DW went bankrupt in 1990, the company was sold and manufacturing was moved to Palmer, Mass. These revolvers are sometimes of poor quality and led to another bankruptcy. The DW brand was bought by Bob Serva and the production facility was moved to Norwich, NY. Money was invested into CNC machinery to make DW revolvers and the then new, DW 1911's. Although of high quality, production was limited and prices were high. In 2005, CZ-USA bought out DW, but I think they primarily wanted to get in on the American 1911 market, I do not think they make many revolvers.

I think the MSRP on the new .357 DW's is something like $2k. You can find additional barrels and shrouds on the various sites like ebay and gunbroker. If your gun is stainless they will be harder to find and probably More $$.

Dan Wesson 22-VH
They are nice revolvers. I bought mine new ~40 years ago. SN#23xx.
I wanted a heavy 22 revolver. It definitely fills the bill.
Good shooter.
Don't know why it doesn't get shot more.
