Armadillo, i never see SRCs east of the Mississippi River. moved back here from KS 21 years ago and haven't seen one yet. don't really see many pre-64 94s either. Lee

I always heard that Winchester "usually" shipped SRCs to customers west of the Mississippi. But when I lived in Virginia I found several SRCs and was never able to find myself a 94 carbine without the ring. (Wish I had collected S&Ws back then and left the Winchesters alone.)

Nice one! I think Winchester dropped the saddle ring altogether in 1927. I wish Winchester left that post type front sight on later carbines rather than the ramps like my ‘47 .32 Special.

Lovely little carbine. I bet it still shoots! BTW, am I the only person who believes we've lost something with the 94 not being in regular production?

Beautiful like rifle. I love those tang sights.
Let us know how she shoots and a picture of the deer that you take with it.

Just had my 1919 '94 SRC out at the range yesterday. Other than mine has a saddle ring, almost exact twin wear wise.

Since we are discussing Winchester lever guns in this thread maybe you guys can help me out. I have an old (1929) Winnie 1894 .30-30 my uncle gave me many years ago, it was his goto hunting rifle for many years. As a kid at the time it mostly hung in the gun rack in my room, before being relegated to the back of the safe in later years. Time has not been kind to this ole lever gun and I would like to get it cleaned up and maybe partially restored. Not price of a new car restored, but because of its history I wouldn't mind throwing a few bucks at it to make it look pretty again. Does the hive know of anyone who does this kind of work?
TIA
**I don't mean to hijack the thread, so if my query is inappropriate I apologize.
