I guess my J-Frames are my favorites. If I had to give them up, I’d like to at least keep something that I could have with me all the time.

Today, that would be my S&W 60-4 with 158 HP +P. Tomorrow?

However, to be true to the non-S&W notion of this section, 1980 Python, nickel 6", like new, though box only pretty good.

I place a high value on fit & feel (ergonomics), utility (concealable), and reliability. That being said, because we have different firearms for different purposes, I have a couple of "favorites". First is my Browning Hi Power 9mm. Second, the Kahr K9. The Kahr feels great in the hands and has a great trigger that closely mimics a fine S&W revolver.

If I had a favorite I'd probably own just one. I have LOTS of favorites for different applications.

I can't say it's my favorite as I just got it , but I really had fun with this one today . This month was my B-day . I decided I needed to buy a B-Day gun . I was in my local gun store on Thursday talking to Mike , just shooting the breeze . He went into the back room and walked out with a very late model gorgeous Colt Police Positive in 38 special . We both felt the owner had never shot it . The bluing was gorgeous . The corners and edges of the frame were sharp so it had never been buffed down for a re-blue , no turn line on the cylinder . I had to have it and he made a very reasonable deal , $450 . I had the opportunity to shoot it today . W0W , talk about accurate . I was just shooting wadcutter loads , 148 gr over 2.8 grs of Bullseye powder at almost 20 yds . It is such a light weight gun and the action is literally smooth as silk , made back in the days when every piece was hand fitted . I have not had a revolver in 38 special for many years . This one was / has been worth the wait . This is my 2nd Colt . My first was an Old Model Trooper in 357 magnum which was again , a gun of very low rounds , if any . If finances would allow it , I would like to have one of the new Pythons , 4" barrel . I am a true Smith fan , but am truly enjoying my Colts . Regards Paul

For a 45 it would be a semi custom 1911A1 by Springfield Armory.
For a 9mm it would be my West German Sig P6.
For a 9x18 it would be my CZ82.
For a 22rf it would be my Ruger MKIII.
For a 38 special it would be my old Model 10.
Frank

My model 19-3 that I purchased when graduating from the police academy in 1972. I had a master action job on it from a fine gunsmith, the late Bill Bryson. I have no idea how many 38 special wadcutter ammo I fired from that fine weapon. I retired it when the crooks started carrying semi-autos and moved to 1911's but I still break it out when I need to take a trip down memory lane.
