Default Times Change of favor

Several decades ago,

Something new "on the scene" was a bit of
a rage.

Now, not so much, handgun hunting.

I was in, various progression, 44 Mag, 35 rem, and on.

Settled in and wound up with an XP-100 in 7-08 Rem.

Long ago.

Like the post. Many years ago became "bored" in this area hunting deer with a rifle, had to take many to keep population in check. Went to the Contender and never looked back. Now have "many" Contenders, 4 XP's, 5 Savage Striker's, a number of Encore's. Then the revolvers and even a couple 10mm's. The challenge has remained to this day. Good shooting, have fun.

Having been involved with the Masters International Shooting Championship for over 30 years, I have seen hundreds of XP100, modified into every conceivable configuration. Chambered primarily in 7mmBR, but many in 6mmBR, 7x47 Ugalde, 6x47, 243, 308, 35 Remington, and many more. It was the single most popular firearm for the "Long Range Event", which was 45 steel targets from 6" to 12" from 50 to 200 meters, and shot from freestyle and stand positions under tight time limits.

I often wondered what happened to all those hundreds of XP's.

This reminds me of Bob Milek. Quite the long range handgun shooter.
