I agree with Art Doc. Gosh, did I just say that???

I've had my Ruger EC9S about three years now and it is also 100% reliable and accurate as well. It is one of the best gun buys I have ever made.

Sig P239's used to be a hot thing. Then came plastic. I don't own any poly weapons now. Do have a P239 though! Bob

Of course another way to go is to (try to) find yourself a Rohrbaugh 9.
Hard to find, expensive, but dependable and suits your needs/desires.

If the new Sig 210 Carry hits the street, it would be a contender.

I've carried both the S&W 3953 (DAO version of the 3913) and the Sig 239; today, all I have is the Sig 239. Both are/were about the same size and weight (I used the same DeSantis Speed holster for both). It's easier to get magazines for the 39XX series even though they're no longer made; you can use Sig P225A1 magazines with the Sig P239, although they extend slightly below the bottom of the magwell, just a visual oddity, no problem operationally. Overall, I highly recommend the Sig P239, but I also have a Walther PPS M2 too.

Sig 938 in a crossbreed IWB. If you can work a 1911 this is second nature.

I have both. In fact I have owned several variants of both. The P239 is all steel and the 3913/14 are alloy frames with steel slides. This makes a difference in felt recoil and in weight when carrying. The 3913 is 4 ounces less than teh P239 in 9mm.
The 3913/14 has ambi-decockers and the P239 is left side only.
The 3913LS and 3913/13 NL are single sided decocker so they are more closely akin to the P239.
Note S&Ws are decockers /safeties and SIG is decocker only.
They just stopped making the P239 this year so it has more advanced trigger options (SRS) "Short Reset System" and it comes in a dehorned package too.
I shoot both guns well so I can see no advantage there except for the shorter reset on the advanced trigger jobs on the Sig.
If I am carrying 9mm I could take either one any given day. One thing the P239 has a distinct advantage over the SW is the ability to have 3 calibers with 1 pistol. I currently have a P239 in 40S&W and 357 Sig. You just need to buy the 2nd barrel and drop it in.
But if it is just 9mm to 9mm they are both excellent firearms.
If pushed I would take the 3913NL over the 9mm P239 simply because it is a true DA/SA pistol with a bobbed/ hidden hammer so 1st shot has to be in DA and it's 4 Oz lighter. On a Sig, like most other DA/SA the hammer is partially dropped but it can still be pulled back and the 1st shot can be SA if desired. I don't prefer this in a CCW situation.

Yup, my Walther PPS M1 and Glock 43 (along with my S&W 442-2 and 340PD) get carried a lot more than my other pistols. Like it or not (and I do) polymer is here to stay.

I am surprised no one has mentioned KEL-TEC line of firearms.
Renowned gun designer George Kellgren has a great of pistols.
I own and shoot them regularly and have NEVER had a problem.
Glad to recommend them.
