Since Colt is making Pyhons again , what is a current value range on a 1979 blue six inch 97% + original condition ( but wrong grips , no box ) Pyhon? PS. I call it shooter grade since the grips are wrong and no box.
If it had the original grips, it should be worth around $2500 - according to the Blue Book. If you plan to sell it, it might be worth finding a set of original grips. They're expensive, but can be found and might make a sale easier.
The good news for collectors is that the new Pythons are not like the old Pythons and have not significantly affected collector value. The bad news is that all Pythons are expensive. 97% conditions is good, incorrect stocks is bad. You can easily pay $300+ for correct stocks. No box, no papers, wrong stocks, a little bit of wear, I'd say $1700 is about right.
