Default Christmas present surprise

My wife really surprised me this year. She bought me
a Browning XBolt Medallion grade rifle in 22-250. It is a caliber I have been looking for to fill an empty spot in my safe. Beautiful gun, now to find ammo

Merry Christmas and God Bless to all

Kelly

Absolutely beautiful rifle. One of my favorite calibers. With a proper scope, should be perfect for ground hogs, coyotes and crows in SE OH.

When I had my Weatherby 22-250 I found Federal Premium Ammo shot one hole 3 shot groups. I have Redding and RCBS dies for that round but never loaded one! I just bought ammo that worked!

Now, you need a good scope and mounts. It surprises me, how many people buy a $1000 rifle and put a cheap scope on it! in the old days that was TASCO.

The scope I used was a 6.5-20 x 40mm Leopold Veri-X III (last one I bought was $600 OTD a decade ago) Burris, Sightron and Vortex still all make more affordable scopes that have reliable adjustments!

There is nothing like shooting a ground hog at any distance, BUT further is funner!

Default Scope

Ivan, yes looking for a nice gloss Leupold to match the bluing on the gun.

Yep, going to be my coyote and ground hog gun. I have a Remington 788 in 22-250 years ago and I used a Weaver 10x on it. Groundhogs were in danger in my uncles fields back in the late 70’s early 80’s when I had the 788

Yes she is a keeper. She bought me a Walther P5 several years ago as a Christmas present. It was in like new condition also. Doesn’t get me one every year but when she does, it is a dandy. Yes she has a sister but she is married.

Very nice, I no longer even dream of ever receiving a firearm as a gift from my better half.
