My craziest purchase wasn't one thing, it was a bunch of things.
I had the intention of buying a 4" S&W 28-2. I ended up with two of them. One with all the paperwork and box, in great shape, and the other one with nothing but the gun itself, in even better shape. Those two kind of reignited my N Frame love that had sort of died out over the years and I bought a 629-1 and then a 625-3. Along with those, along came another gun I've wanted for a long time, a Sphinx SDP compact 9mm. At that point, I decided to stay off GB and control myself. I have gone back on GB a couple of times, but haven't seen anything I really want, but the reintroduction of the S&W 15-22 pistol is beginning to make me think about getting one. I had one of the originals and liked it a lot.

Probably will not shoot it. I have 10 rds to fill the holes in the presentation box. The gun came with a lot of documentation one of which was a small box of rds with a letter of apology from the president to replace ones that didn’t fire. Have always wanted on since I saw You Only Live Twice. I’m 67 and we had all the money we would have spent on restaurants, travel and whatnot so what the heck.

I bought a Yugoslavian M76 8mm sniper rifle built on an early Ohio Rapid Fire receiver (probably built by ORF), early import parts kit with the original yugo barrel, all matching numbers including the optic. Came with one shooter mag, mag pouch with four mint condition mags and accy's, and correct sling. Cleaned up nice and shoots like a champ. Other than that I bought a sweet 29-5 MagnaClassic, 629-4 6" std lug round butt, and a rock-stock 1983 Springfield M1A with 5-line receiver, genuine GI parts, and original/correct Hillside/Wilson Arms barrel. A light year for firearm purchases, but I smartly bought a ton of ammo and parts before the covid, and updated a bunch of my AR15s with new parts and accy's during the covid. Oh, I also bought a Stern Defense 9mm upper, and it's simply amazing.

Exactly zero firearm purchases in 2020. I did get:
2K 9mm ball.
2.5K .38 spl Privi 158 gr SWC.
1K 55gr M193 5.56 and 1K 62 gr M855.
Two 5,250rd cases of Federal .22lr 36 gr hp's.
Everything had rebates except the Privi.
I'll try harder in 2021. Joe

I only bought about 7 guns this year, 6 of them S&W revolvers.
The craziest purchase was probably buying a frame with no barrel from J&G sales and assembling it with spare parts. It’s definitely the cheapest gun I ever bought and the ugliest gun I own but it shoots and I love it.

This Ruger SP101 was my only gun purchase and not crazy at all.
My crazy purchase was a 2020 day planner.

Craziest thing I’ve ever bought.....My son talked me into buying 33 acres of field, woods and swamp for us to build on. Btw, I’m only 70 but in 37 months I’ll have the loan paid and I can build. Starting a late in life adventure I guess. Here is the 12 acres of field that was in peanuts when we bought it, now it’s in wheat. Next year it will be in soy beans and Bullwinkle [I’m sure there’s one with all the sign I’ve seen] might get harvested.

My name is crazyphil, so you know I do some crazy things. Things like
buying a holster, then needing to go out and find a gun to fit the holster.
Past year 2020, my friend Red Nichols sent me an email and gave me the
information on a holster that, as he said, had my name written all over it.
At first I wasn't too hot on it, but it grew on me.
It is a Eubanks, carved and laced, double loop, Cordovan color, made
for a Colt's SAA with 7.5" barrel. Shown below left. The belt is by
Texas Gunslinger. Silver Navajo buckle by Nezzi.
The knife is a Bear. My Stetson is an Open Road.
Then I had to find a gun that would fit in it. I ended up buying a replica
of the Colt by Denix, shown 2nd from left.
Actually it's kind of fun to be a little bit crazy. It has kept me from going
insane.

Nice looking rig. Never done that but I have rebuilt an unused holster to work with something else...Here’s a Shensei .45 in a flapped revolver holster.

I forgot this one. A slick side (no fence) 601 lower I built with a 605 upper added to it. The upper has a rifle length gas system with a 15.5" barrel (flash hider pinned and welded). A1 stock with Garand sling.
