Some Of The Best Guns Bought in 2020
These are some of the best handguns that I added in2020. What are yours?
Nowlin Challenger 9mm. This gun tops it all, it is extremely smooth and accurate with a truly unbelievable trigger. American made, too.
MR73, a gun from Mulhouse that is also very smooth. I put some pale grips on for range use and kept the original grips in a box.
SIG P210-4, I got this to replace my old P210-4 that I had gifted to my son.
This Walther P38 replaced my surplus P1
FN International 150, my old pistol club had a Colt OMM and an FN that I had used to learn pistol craft with. Finally got my own and one for my youngest son for Christmas.
Walther PP in .22 LR. It came in the blue factory luxury case and I just had to have it.
SIG P210-6, all stock but for the Nills that I added.
Finally, last but not least another entry from the U.S.: the SIG Sauer P365. This was the most practical purchase of them all! It was meant for summer carry but it shoots and conceals so well, that I continued carrying it through winter.

Good one Andy, 2020 was great year for new guns. You find some desirable guns. Found a Ruger 10/22 with all Volquartsen parts and a Mid Way Bull Barrel, have a Volquartsen THM barrel on it’s way. It’s very accurate. A CZ rifle in .223 with a Mannlicher stock and a single set trigger. A S&W custom model 28 with a 5” barrel. A Colt government model tricked out into a Bullseye gun, amazing shooter. A Bob Jones PPC with the 1 1/2” barrel built on a model 15 frame. Finally an Savage Anschutz 54 sporter with great wood, again amazingly accurate. Somehow I gotta quit, Larry

Very nice. Great pics.
My pockets are obviously not as deep as yours, but I did manage to pic up a nice early Swiss M/1949 or P210, or Neuhausen, (take your pick) that is A numbered and P stamped. With issue holster and 3 very nice mags. I have been after one of those that I could afford since I first shot one 40+ years ago. I couldn't afford this one either, but it was on the low end of the unaffordable range, so I sold some blood.
Also picked up a nice Nazi stamped P35, and like stamped P38.
I agree 100% with your experience on the P365. For 40 years I have been a "small gun only in the summer when I have to" person and anytime feasible even in the summer I would carry something larger when I was somewhere that sweaty cothes was acceptable. 2 years ago I picked up a P365 for backup and off duty. With many rounds downrange now I carry it MOST of the time regardless of the weather. I can hit anything with it that I can hit with a G19 and with 10+1 or 12+1 in and a 15 back I do not feel at a disadvantage. The VERY first pocket pistol I have ever tried, and I have tried many, that I can honestly say that I LIKE.

I picked up some gems ,for me at least, in 2020.
One I think you'll appreciate was An Anschutz 1418
With surprisingly nice wood.
A Savage fox special grade was also added.
A nice double was something I've literally waited decades to find.

It was long guns for me in 2020
Picked up a few. Got a Browning (Miroku) model 53 in 32 WCF. What a great shooter and some really nice wood. Shown here with another Winchester (Miroku) in .45 Colt.
Also picked up a Barrett REC-7 early in the year that I am really happy with. Also a BLR model 81 in .308 that is pretty sweet.
More recently I picked up an Original Winchester High Wall in 40-70 straight Sharps. It dates to 1887. The bore is pretty rough and this is reflected in the accuracy or more correctly, lack thereof. We may have to sleeve it. We will see going forward.

The only gun that I purchased this year that was anything special to me was this...
Smith & Wesson California Highway Partrol 4006TSW
It was my "grail gun" as they say, a firearm that I fell in love with the moment I first laid eyes upon it, but lacked the money to purchase when they were first released to the public on the used market in 2017, but fortunately they released them in batches as the CHP replaced the 4006TSW with the M&P40. I missed out on getting one of the near mint condition examples, but just as well, a bit of wear only adds to the mystique of police trade-ins for me, so the bit of superficial carry wear on my Very Good condition example suits me better than a Like New example would.

Not only did you list more guns in your 2020 purchases than I have in my entire collection, but you managed to spend more on the CZ 75 Auto likely than I have in my whole collection! Wow!!

I can't believe that! Well done. That is an excellent way to spend $2,000. I retract the second half of my earlier statement.

Best purchase this year was the 25-7. I’d been looking for one for years, finally found one and for a really good price. The 1961 Colt Government was also a good pick up, along with the Colt Gunsite Pistol. My CMP 1911A-1 should be here this week, so 2021 is off to a good start.

Although 2020 pretty much sucked on so many different levels I did pick up a few handguns that made things seem a little better. I like S&W, Colt, and Browning and was able to find one of each this past year.
S&W 657 3" Lew Horton
Colt Trooper MKIII w/ scarce Vented Rib and Coltguard finish
Browning BDM (only 119 made in Silver Chrome)

I should include the Dukes rifle.
It was made by Stephen Grant one of London's Best.
He was even consigned to build for Queen Victoria.
Made in 1878 it is chambered for the 500 BPE
Has what was called a cripple stock.
Ivory front sight and what I think is called marble cake walnut stock.

I only bought two in 2020, but they were both guns that I've always wanted. I already have a SRH in .44, but I always wanted the original. And the Model 1100 has been a grail gun for a long time. And they shoot as good as they look!

Neither of these were even on my radar until the opportunity was there. Both in excellent condition.

I've picked up several in 2020, but this is probably my favorite.
Daniel Defense 300BO Pistol with a 7" barrel.

Poor really sucks, been there, done that!
Won't do that again.
Having money is a lot more fun and easy.

Yes but with some restrictions, I need to ask a shooting permit from the bureau of arms (and find a range that will allow it).

So I bought several in 2020 during a mandated government paid 2 month vacation due to CV19.
Thank God firearms are considered "essential " and nothing else much was open. Perfect time to hunt for Colts.
But the "best ", for me anyway, was this delightful Colt Model M Pocket Hammerless from 1928 in .380. I came upon it somewhat accidentally, and paid the princely sum of $400 plus tax.
And the second "best " for me was locating a 2004 Colt 1911a1 1943/WW2 reproduction in 95% condition. Not many of these put out from Hartford, and they're true Custom Shop guns, from a time when they were turning out great 1911s.
There were a couple of others, but these 2 were "best " and items I'd sought for awhile.

All of my best handguns except one, were bought in 2020. Retirement, and the social distancing mandated by COVID-19 put a lot of time on my hands; I managed to visit a few gun shops and gun shows at the right times, and dipped into some retirement money. I've posted pics of all of them here and there, but I've bought a M28-2, a M57 no dash, a M29-2, a M66-1 and a M48-4 from Dec 2019 to Jan 2021, as well as a SxS CZ shotgun.

I THINK my best 2020 guns were all Colts.
NIB 2nd gen 45 LC.
Colt Det Spl inscribed Col. PD No.1004 shipped 1934
and an all original etched panel SAA shipped in 1881 with holster - Great bore!
.
And there then was a mint 1956 sav 99F in 243.
There was one Smith and Wesson that snuck in the back door.
