Seems a tad high, but I don’t know what pre 64 94s usually go for. I would have guessed one in that condition would fetch about $3500 +\-

Rifle was only $3500 plus the three boxes of ammo.

Looking at the bid history, the winner REALLY wanted that rifle.

It is in fabulous condition, but thatís just stupid money.

I would have thought $1000 tops and I wouldnít pay that. Itís just a pre-64 Carbine with short forearm wood, not a SRC or a Trapper.

Money is not any good unless it will buy what you want. The buyer might be rich enough that the price of that rifle is like 1 cent too me. Larry

I purchased this Model 94 in September of 2020. It's also a 1959 manufactured gun, just like the one in the auction. To me, mine appears to be in about the same shape as the auction gun. The big difference? I paid $750 for mine.

I had mine on the table at a gun show last year and never got a look at $1,000 . . .

You might have something there. Kinda like trying to sell an SKS or a Ruger Mark II . . .

Well we all know Gunbroker. Some with deep pockets just jump in with both feet. Love the prices many pay for milsurps like 98s.

Default Winchester 94...pre 64...clean.

Wow that Blund dude REALLY wanted that rifle! Crazy! Especially since it WAS NOT perfect, and no box.

Will take mine all day long - from 1950 that I paid $750 for last year.

This Model 64, perhaps the finest iteration of the M94 clan, came out of New Haven in 1936. It's still in mint original condition, complete with peep sights, as many were from the factory.

I'd consider selling it - how does $8,000 sound?

John

I would love a 64! I, too, believe it’s the finest iteration of the 94.

The pre 64 m94s have gotten soft around these parts. You can find a good one for $600 fairly easy. This is one I don’t understand. People crying about levers because Marlin was screwed up by Rem. Now Ruger has them. Still the pre 64 m94 will be a better gun. The JM Marlins are coming up in price with Wins stalling. There should be a market there. It’s not the same thing as pre 64 m70s and m12 shotguns. They are soft because buyers want the new stuff. Most lever guys tend to want traditional levers.

My first gun that I bought with my summer jobs money in 1958 was a Model 94. Dad let me pick it out at the Western Auto Store for all of $68.00. Big money for a 13 year old boy. Still have it and still use it, but it sure isn't in as good as shape as that $7000 one.

In 1958 you could buy a nice house for 7K...

I paid $165 for my 1956 Model 94 on GB. Do not get that $7K price. Took two guys to bid it up there so I guess I'm just missing why it's so valuable. Mine is not pristine. Sort worn and beat up looking. Like me.

Pre 64 is only important for model 70 bolt actions.
