This is a Browning Light Twelve, 1957 manufacture date. It belonged to a dear friend of my dad’s. My dad was given the gun, by the friend’s widow, after helping her clear up some issues with the estate. The shotgun quickly became Dad’s favorite. Before he passed in April 2019, he asked me which of his hunting guns I wanted, when the time came. I chose this Browning and a Beretta BL-3.
This Browning has become my “go-to” duck gun, this season, as I return to waterfowling, after a 20 year hiatus. We’ve busted ice and brush, and knocked down a few birds. But, even when nothing’s flying, this old humpy is just plain fun to hold and admire.

I have two old Browning O/U 's in the "pink" Hartman cases and six new O/U's in the brown cases. Not one of them has a cleaning rod holder. You would have thought "progress" would retain that bit of Class!

Many people consider the M-2 50 his best idea! However, He gave his son Val advice on the development of the Superpose. Val gave Muruku advise on the Citori, so the pedigree is in those guns too.

Beautiful shotgun you have there. They are a real classic, with unbelievable craftsmanship compared to most of today's shotguns.

Mine is a well worn Light 12, about the same vintage as yours, given to me by an uncle who decided he didn't want to hunt any longer. I sure put it to use.
