Almost hit a homer, but left one with a great reply
Went to a LG Show this weekend. Stripped my backup Glock for two parts that would increase ease of operation and speed. Found both, and the really nice guy put them on for me and gave my originals back in a plastic bag with his card in it. He said he was used to leaning it on the slide to tap out, but was quick to find something else. One less gun to strap up for me.
Next, found a holster for a full lug L frame "plus one" 3". Not the type I wanted, but a really tight holster. Also found a holster for an 8-shot 3" .44 Special, however not the type I wanted to buy. He said he would make me one, so I got his card. I asked why they were so hard to find. He said most people carry semi-auto pistols any more. Told him I wouldn't be seen at a BBQ carrying plastic. He smiled.

I am sorry to ask what I am sure will be a dumb question, but who makes an 8 shot, .44 Special revolver?

That's not a bad question; and do they make one in .44 Magnum, too?

I was gonna ask what "leaning it on the slide to tap out" meant, until I got to that part . . .

OK, I'm not the only one. I thought I might have had a stoke overnight and lost my ability to read and comprehend. When I got to the part about the 8 shot 44 Special, I was starting to reach for the phone to dial 911. Is that toast I smell?

I was up using the bathroom and noticed the post when I looked at the Ipad before falling back to sleep. We need to cut a forum brother some slack, he is among friends. Plus I have found the Ozark Mountain tanglefoot can tangle up many other things besides your feet—including your fingers! Moreover, I have typed many a line cold sober that I read later and said, “I didn’t write that did I?” Unfortunately, I did!

The OP has a point, Who would go to a BBQ carrying plastic? Can your brain wrap around the Lone Ranger with his Glock 17 and Silver Tip Hollow Points? (Hi-Ho ATV and away!)
Personally, I often think progress is a step towards where we came from!

In a past life I knew a guy that told when he got drunk he could think of ways to make a great deal of money but when he sobered up he couldn't remember the details. So one time before he started drinking he got a pencil and paper and when he got drunk he figured out how too make a lot of money and he wrote down the details. When he sobered up he couldn't read his writing. Larry

I'm holding out for the 9 shot with a muzzleloading 20g shotgun barrel underneath, a 21st century LeMat.

Ok, ok - I think I’ve got it.
“I ventured to the gun show today in the hopes of finding some parts to modify my beloved Glock. A nice gentleman had them, and installed them expeditiously using an unorthodox technique. I was enthralled.
Wandering farther, I encountered a holster for a gun I do not possess. I purchased it nonetheless due to its tightness, which I found endearing. I inquired about a holster for a gun which does not exist, but should. We agreed to discuss it further. We discovered a mutual disdain for the display of polymer handguns at social functions, and shared knowing smiles.”
Best I can do at my current BAC, fellas.

I can do that one with sigp220.45's translation guide. The title is the Cliff Notes version . . .
"Found two holsters that were close to what I really needed for two different guns, but not exact. Told the latter fella' something I just thought up about plastic guns at a barbecue which we both thought was pretty funny."

But 'tis strange:
And oftentimes, to win us to our harm,
The instruments of darkness tell us truths,
Win us with honest trifles, to betray's
In deepest consequence.

Well, that's just boring. I doubt any of us would have commented should that have been the original post.

Since it is Shot Show week, I was just checking in to see the photo of the new to the world 8 shot 44 Special. O well, If they do introduce a 3" 8 shot 44 special this week, I know where to find a holster.

I’m quite sure the OP is pretty red faced rereading his post. I can tell you when I was hitting it regular I did way worse. He’s a “long timer” contributor, be a shame to get run off for “running off.” Joe

What I think he said was he took his pistol to a gunshow and a guy there replaced the front and rear sights (?) and gave him the originals. He then found a holster for a L-frame; not sure if he bought it or not, no home run there, but the holster maker agreed to make him one that would fit his 3" gun. Not sure about the 8-shot .44 Special. Not sure about any of the OP, just making an uneducated guess.
