Need Help from the Brain Trust!
Minding my own business I blundered into a local pawn shop where I found a CZ-75 for sale ... $650 OTD. Condition is better than 95%. Box and two magazines, etc. Is this a good pistol? Is this a good price given no shipping, FFL fee, etc. Sincerely. bruce.

Can’t help you on price, but it’s an excellent pistol with many devoted owners. Reliable, great feel in your hand.

According to CZ's website a 75B retails for $699.

Seems expensive for a used CZ-75.

I have no knowledge of current value but I have experience with the pistols. When CZ ads a safety on the other side they name the pistol CZ 85. With a few features to make it a better match pistol it becomes a CZ 85 Combat. I fired over 15,000 rounds through my CZ 85 Combat in matches and practice. One of the match features is no trigger deactivated firing pin safety. While my trigger still is not quite as light as theirs it competes well against $2,000 1911s.
The basic CZ 75 can be separated into different variations. After I had all the CZ 9 MMs I could use military or police CZ 75s were imported and sold inexpensively. They do not have the modern firing pin safety. The B in CZ 75 B means the pistol has that safety. New CZ 75s were made for the U.S. civilian market before the CZ 75 B existed. All stainless steel CZ 75Bs were common in gun stores a few years ago. The CZ 75 feature that makes it competitive in matches is they can be holstered cocked and locked. There are decocker models that can not be cocked and locked. Also there are different finishes. The military and civilian market standard is a baked on paint. When I bought my CZ 85 Combat bright polished blue and silver colored plating were within $10 of same price. Local stores only stocked the ugly paint so theirs wouldn't be $10 higher that the competition. I ordered bright blue. I forget if the optional plating was nickel or chrome at that time. I have a commercial CZ 75 (not B) with bright chrome. Writing only CZ 75 does not narrow it down enough for those who know to write what it's worth.

Yes for me.
I would like to have one.
Especially if Blue.
Not crazy about that baked on mud finish.

If it's a 75 and not the B(internal firing pin safety) model I would go for it. The 75 has a much better trigger than the 75B.

I would likely pay that for one of the old original CZ-75s. Not the B or any of the other random models.
I had one once and should of kept it. Think I sold it and 3 factory mags and the box about 5 years ago for over $500.00.

Sounds high to me. Check GB for actual selling prices from closed auctions. But any gun that seems like a good buy is only a good buy if you really want it.

Fantastic pistol. Check. Price? Unsure about your market area.
Some above have posted about the KEY difference between the 75, and the 75B. If should be clearly stamped on the slide. Also on a B, you will see a roll-pin (cross-pin) going through the serrated gripping grooves on the slide. Also, on all but a few unique iterations, a B will have a squared-off, or 'hooked' trigger guard.
I would agree that I may bite for a 75 at that price, but NOT the B-pattern. A bit pricey for the latter.

Depends. $650 all in puts the pistol at about $550 before taxes and fees, right? Not a screaming deal, but not horrible either.

I'm an admitted fangirl of the CZ-75B pistol. Good ergonomics, good shooter, and dependable. CZ is the only handgun manufacturer I have that all the examples I own have never failed to fire. It's what I carry.
With the current "run" on firearms, there are no factory stock CZ-75s at any of the usual outlets I scan, but the price is in line with what a stock "B" model retails for new, "if" you could find one.

Bruce, I wouldn't let it get away at that price. You did say "CZ 75." So, I'm basing my answer on that.
If possible, please post pictures whether you buy it, or not.
-Happy hunting!

I like my CZ 75. I think it was $350 a few years back. These are interesting times we are living in.
