That one is super nice Howie.
This one is a fairly early 3rd Generation, but have to admit I don't shoot her much. .44 Special.

I had a mate for that 44 special....shot it for years in SASS....finally had a buddy finagle me out of it....
It was a wonderful cowboy gun.
He still uses it nearly every week end.

Enjoy! They're great fun to shoot if you can get past the guilt. I've had mine at the range maybe 5 times.
This one I found sitting in a local shop maybe 10 -12 years ago. It was so unusual I couldn't resist.
Black powder frame, etched barrel, 44-40 and 44 special long flute cylinders, bullseye ejector rod head, 3 line patent date.
To date, I've never seen another like it

The early 3rd Generation guns were made at a time when Colt was truly 'hurting' and they did a great job of re-introducing the SAA. Some of them were the "Best of the Best" but by the time they were again phased out the quality of production had fallen off. You were really lucky to have gotten one when you did. ALL of you!!!

I got one from a fellow forum member last year. 5 1/2 inch barrel with a set of ivory grips as well as the original grips. Its wearing custom coco bolo now. Picture here with its big brother in 45.
