Default How 'bout Kimber's Micro 9?

I have seen a couple in local stores lately, they look nice and compact.
Any readers have 1st hand experience, comments, on recent models?
It is the Micro 9 stainless I'm interested in.
Thanks in advance!

Note first hand so........I’ve read nothing but problems with those guns. Someone offered one to me as a partial trade, I declined pronto.

A friend of mine used one for a 400-450 round one-day range session. Aside from sore fingers loading those small magazines he had no complaints.

I had one and it was 100% reliable thru about 500 rounds. I did not keep it because, (due to health issues) I could not carry it without pain.

I have had one for a few months, and upfront it has not been fired because of the ammo shortage. But, I have disassembled it and checked it out pretty closely. I am very impressed with the machining and level of finish both inside and out. Springfield’s 911 is unobtainium and P938 prices are atmospheric so there really aren’t any other quality alternatives in that niche in my opinion. I noticed that Cabela’s here had them for $545 late last month.

I have a Kimber Micro 9. I believe the frame is aluminum. It's a good little shooter. I had a problem with the mag dropping while shooting initially but Kimber took care of it. That all said it never made into my EDC rotation. I shoot it once in awhile, well when ammo was available, but other than that it's not used much.

Maybe some day I'll carry it some. The thing is it's a good pocket carry but I prefer a J-Frame for pocket carry. If I want to holster carry I have better options like my Shield or G19 and a few others.

My wife wanted one. So we bought it. It was too snappy for her. So it's mine now.

The owner of my LGS asked me to test fire one a customer had returned. I tried it 4 times and each time it ejected the magazine during firing. It was then sent back to Kimber.

I have a Kimber micro in 380 and love it! I have never had a failure to fire, feed, extract or eject so far. I carry it in a Blackhawk holster. It's very easy to conceal.

Most of the complaints come from people that never owned or shot one. Don’t know why but folks that don’t own them love to bash Kimber.

I have a micro 9 and have shot it and carried it for several years. I own a total of 6 Kimbers and have no complaints at all. Fit and finish on each is excellent. The fit and finish put my Colt LW commander to shame. Everyone of them have been 100% from day one and very accurate. My Micro 9 is the basic two tone but all models are pretty much the same gun just different features. The only thing I’ve done to it is clean and oil it and replace the grips.

Let me just say that I would bet my life on my M9, it’s that good.

I recently bought my first Kimber, a Micro 9 and although it's been about 99% reliable, it needed work.

First thing I had to do was polish the feed ramp as it was probably the worst I've ever seen. No way was this gun going to function reliably without finishing what Kimber neglected to. Next was the trigger which had almost a 9 pound pull out of the box. Simple fix with a little tweaking of the leaf spring, and now is about 5 pounds.

First range trip went well, with only a few mis-feeds, but is nearly perfect after several hundred rounds.

Point of impact was about 3 to 4 inches high at 10 yards, with all bullet weights so that wasn't going to fly. I calculated needing a .190" taller front sight but the only other one Kimber has is only .180" tall.

I called to see if they'd send me the taller sight as it's better than the .150" which came on the gun. I was told to send the gun in so they could accuracy check it, and they would probably change the barrel or slide if needed. I decided to make my own sight since I've got a decent Micro and who knows what I'd have if they start changing parts.

Sorry, but for what Kimber charges for their guns, they shouldn't need any work, PERIOD!

My neighbor bought one a couple years ago and only fired it a couple times. He decided to run a few mags since he wanted to start carrying it, he couldn't get a complete mag without feed issues. I opened it up and was appalled by the roughness of the feed ramp and how the mags fit. He called Kimber and they told him he could send it in on his dime and they would give him an estimate of repairs for $65.00. He told them to pound sand.

I have one I got when they first came out. I probably have 1200 rds thru it. No problems. I don't carry autos much but I wouldn't object to carrying it once in a while. My sister carried it a while right after she got her permit and liked it but her friend talked her into a Glock 43 with an Apex trigger.
