Default CZ 97BD with Cajun Gun Works conversion

I took this gun in a trade, and actually had it sold before I took possession of it from the transferring FFL, but the buyer backed out of the deal, so for the time being l'm keeping it. I almost never buy modified guns, and never had much interest in owning a CZ, but I was intrigued with this gun, and I knew the seller was reliable and honest.Took it to the range yesterday and discovered I had an incredible pistol. I knew CZ made a nice gun but this was truly amazing. The Cajun Gun Works conversion is top drawer in every way. Great trigger, really nice conversion to a 1911 bushing. Just very pleased with the whole package. I am still a huge fan of the Sig P220, but this 97BD is right up there with it, and different enough to make it special in its own right.

I have found if you want to sell a gun never take it to the range or you might not want to part with it, Another thing if you are at the range with a friend who has a nice gun and they ask if you want to shoot it say NO or you might just like it enough to have to have one, don't ask me how I know.
Nice gun you have and you are lucky the buyer backed out, I just got a CZ 75bd and will be dropping in a few cajun springs today.
CZ are shooters whether long guns or handguns..

Have a 97 done by Cajun also. Shoots as good as a high end 1911 built by some of the famous gunsmiths for twice the amount. Mine is still double action, both have amazing light pulls. Wish it was a single action only with the straight trigger like the CZ 75 Tactical Sport LS I own. Makes me feel like I can actually shoot good, I only shoot offhand. Larry

What kinds of groups does the addition of the 1911 bushing buy you? I've never had any complaints about CZ and CZ clone accuracy as delivered.

My only previous shooting experiemce with a CZ was with a stock 75B , and I found it to be very accurate. I think the total conversion with the bushing and trigger work on the 97BD contributes to the accuracy. It was my first time shooting the gun, and when I got acclimated to it, I was shooting a relatively small group at 15 yards. I didn't measure it, but it appeared to about 5"-6". With the 1911 bushing the gun was very tight. I've been shooting for a long time and consider my skills to be above average. My preference is for revolvers, but I was very impressed with the whole 97BD/CGW package.

Big fan of the cz97 over here. I have a stock 97BD, a Cajunized 97B, and a CZ Custom 97B in 10mm. The CGW 1911 barrel bushing trigger setup really comes to glory when I back a target out to 15 and 25 yds.

My favorite though is the CZ Custom 10mm conversion with trigger work, custom barrel bushing and bar sto barrel. It uses witness magazines filled to 12 rounds. Maybe with the acquisition of Colt, there will be a factory CZ 10mm in the works. A Rami in 10mm would be excellent.

Dropped in the 13# hammer spring yesterday with my friend trigger man Lee. Lee and I guessed at the stock pulls on the DA and SA. Lee guessed 12.5 on the DA and 4.9 on the SA, I guessed 10.8 on the DA and 4.5 on the SA. The trigger gauge only goes to 12lbs so we don't know what the pull was for DA with the factory spring as it was over 12lbs, the SA pull had an average of 4.9 Lee hit it on the head.
After the 13# spring was installed we guessed again Lees guess 10.2 DA and 4.2 SA. My guess was 10.8 DA and 5.2 for SA. The gauge told us DA was 9.8 and SA was 4.2 Now you know why I call him the trigger man he won the beer..
I will be shooting it today and I think I will be leaving it alone for now I love those trigger pull weights and love the trigger..

love CZ's here. I have a P-01 Omega with the full Cajun Pro Package. Same size as a Glock 19. Had a 75 SA for a short time and sold it. I would love a 97 SA model but I am a lefty and they do not offer a ambi safety. The P-10C is also excellent.

Having read some more about the CZ 97 and its troublesome barrel bushing, I realize why my Turkish clone (SAR K2 45) does not have one.
